my congregation got a reminder today to start donating money.
elder said that after the letter on the new donation arrangement was read, the contributions for that fund went from the average (i believe it was $500 or so) to $0.
after that reminder, cash was put into those boxes.
I dunno about all catholics, but my brother's family receives envelopes preprinted with their 10% tithe for easy giving at their church....just sayin...

before asking you this question, i tried to do some research on the thought that 'hard work never killed anyone,' but, man, can it cripple you!
what i wanted to figure out is something better than you're getting older and tireder.. many of us have done hard physical labor most of our lives and see no prospect of retirement.
CoCo, I've found that removing glutens from my diet really helped with joint pain. I'm sure the type of joint pain differs from person to person, though, as one extremely healthy friend told me he's begun to experience clicking sounds in his knees. Mine was more inflammatory, which seemed to be linked to gluten.
Energy is also linked to what we eat, so maybe more fresh veggies and less processed food would help.

conversation with an elder...i said " did you watch due south yesterday" and he said " ive got far more important things to do".
i mean that comment of his got me to thinking and wondering, and made me see he was missing out on living..and i think that comment was the straw that broke this boys faith, and started my i dont want to be a witness anymore.
kind of wierd how a simple question opened my eyes.. and now as i write this i am watching " the rebel" a 1950s western series, and its great and its even better my 9 year old is watching with me..and there is nothing more important than being happy.. .

i'm not talking about a individual, but a congregation as a whole.. i'm talking about a brother or sister that really hit hard times.. have there ever been an occasion where the brothers (elders).
decided to dip into the kh funds and help one in need????.
example, brother loose his job, get evicted, family of four or.
Never out of congregation funds...always asked the r&f to fork over more money.
I think it's an awesome idea.
