Profiling of an apostate
by joe134cd ini must admit when i was in, the idea i had of an apostate, was an angry bitter person who would picket out side a convention.
i was looking on jwservey and found on the respondents to a servey that 54% were either active members or fading members.
this made me wonder is the organisation underestimating the extent of apostasy.

Cha, I've used the same labels...previously Pharisees always came to mind, now it's more like Nazi's. No love anywhere but for their own power. Wish more could see it.

Thanks WTBS for changing the Kingdom Songs, you freed me!
by StephaneLaliberte inyesterday, i saw a picture of a family signing kingdom melodies together.
it made me realize a fact that i am somewhat ashamed to admit:.
for over a decade, i have been aware of the false prophecies, the deceptive statements, the lack of scriptural support for many core practices and other issues with the witnesses.

I agree, the new songs are horrible. We were actually informed by an elder than many of the songs were rewritten to remove the influence of that wicked Ray Franz...
Data-Dog, I laughed and laughed at your lyrics...now I just have to be careful not to sing them around certain family members. Thanks for the smiles!

The poison spreads further than I thought.
by quellycatface ini explained that i had da'd early december, due to many reasons, ie; paedophile cover-ups, doctrine, hypocrisy etc etc....... she said she would keep in touch and we'd meet up in february when we would be visiting her area.
i also asked for her df'd sister to get in touch.. guess what?
not a dicky bird.. i've seen on her facebook page that she she still has some very active witness mates, she obviously wants to stay friendly with.. i feel like i've been hurt all over again by this stupid ass cult that ruins good friendships totally.

I just got to play householder!
by Laika ini was a little nervous and a bit dazed, i think i will do better next time.
he offered me the memorial invite, i told him i had jw family who would invite me and he got interested and wanted to find out more, so i told him i wasn't interested in the jw religion, he asked why and i said i find it too controlling.
he thought i was talking about moral rules so started on about how jehovah doesn't want to restrict us 'blah blah', so i pointed out that i meant they're not allowed to read certain materials which is wrong if it's as true as they are confident of.. he then went on about how satan uses false teaching to manipulate us and so we have to be careful of what we read.

Telling them you have family in the truth...
Before my personal brainwashing into the borg began, I attempted to shoo jws away at the door with that line. I thought it was my Get Out of Jail Free card, but they seemed to think they had just bought Boardwalk and Park Place. They looked pleasantly bored when I opened the door, but when I said, "That's okay, my xxx is a witness and I'll just talk to them" the couple at the door got all excited and it got harder to get them to leave.
Once during a rare visit, my jw family member actually wrote a letter to a nearby cong asking them to call on me and (I'm sure) giving them all the personal details of my life. Nothing ever came of it at the time. A few years later, I foolishly decided I needed to study (what I really needed was close family, which I didn't have). I called the cong nearby and left a message, and even prayed for them to send someone. No one contacted me for at least six months.
Then two pioneers showed up one afternoon, not because I'd called the hall but because my family member's letter got handed off to them. The one who was given the letter was the PO's wife (didn't they always get all the "free" studies). They were such faithful workers for God that they didn't even have a bible or study book to share with me... just wanted to sit in the air conditioning and visit. Wished I had thought about that more intelligently at the time and told them never to come back.

Scriptural Grounds for Divorce - Unbelievable story
by Comatose ini personally know the individual involved closely, this is not a rumor.
this is what happens when you let three unqualified guys decide whether or not you get to ever date again with jehovah's blessing.. a young man finds out his wife is cheating on him by seeing texts on her phone.
he knows the person she is cheating with.

I have personal knowledge of an 18-year old jw girl who rented a house with a worldly boy because she moved out of mom and dad's to go to school. The elders said she would be df'd if she didn't move out because even though she swore they were platonic friends, it "looked bad" in the community. They df'd her just for appearances.

The End of Circuit Overseers
by wisdomfrombelow ini am sure that the term "circuit overseer" will be gone soon.
they seem to be changing vocabulary and the presiding overseer is now the "coordinator of the body of elders" and all "district overseers" will be gone in a few months.
they used to be called "circuit servants" but they will never re-hash an old term so they will make a new term.

Wasblind, gmta! I was thinking that the new title would probably just be Massah. As defined by the Urban Dictionary:

P R O U D of H E R: Daughter's column in the New York Times
by humbled inshe called last night to say it's online now, front page.
it'll be in the print version sunday.. not everyone's cup of tea, at first consideration: she is slightly embarrassed to be featured in the modern love column in the style section.. the times people asked to make a short video of her article "fight or flight".
they went to her bronx apartment to talk to her.

Overseer's wife accompanied my Elderette, to answer my question, "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?"
by Faithful Witness inas usual, i was unprepared for a "drop-in" visit by a jw.
they seem to have a knack for coming when you're in the middle of something, or your house is a complete disaster... for me, both things are almost always true.
it's better if you call me and warn me before you come over.

Faithful, that was awesome! It's mind-blowing how few actually know about Candace Conti and all the covered-up sex abuse. Sadly, I know some very well who think the borg can do no wrong despite being aware of (or even having been victimized by) sexual perverts in their cong. Keep tossing out those gems, maybe something will resonate and one of those two may (gasp) Google some of the things you mention.
