Memorial 2014: Wrong date?
by AnnOMaly inthis was meant to have nice inserted pictures and tidy hyperlinks but the forum's being glitchy today.
so unfortunately it's going to be a messy post where you're going to have to exercise your tapping fingers and click on the links to the pics to see what i'm referring to.
sorry about that.. in the article recently studied "do this in remembrance of me" (w13 12/15), there is a box on p. 23 giving the date of this year's memorial and how that date is arrived at.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2013926.

FL Panthers is pranking everyone....or else he's just here pranking everyone and counting his time. No one could actually believe that someone on this board would follow him back down the yellow brick road to Oz.

Help, got JW in home....need details on how to answer question
by skeeter1 in"the world is much worse off today then yesterday .
.
i know the basic answers, but give me some more ammunition.

Skeeter, just tell them you'll have to agree to disagree. There's really no point in throwing facts at them, they only believe what they've been programmed to say to you. Just smile and wave, boys, smile and wave...them right out the door.

Hello, I am new
by LillyC ini am not a jehovah's witness but i am very interested, i have many questions and hope they can be answered here.. i do believe in god, privately.
i do say my prayers daily and do believe god helps me in countless ways.
but i don't go to any church.. i have always been impressed at how smart, polite and nice jehovah's witnesses are and i always make time to speak to them when they call at my door.

Welcome, Lilly!
All these comments may sound a bit wild to you but honestly, the reason so many are encouraging you to be careful is that their lives and their families have been ruined by these people who seem so nice on the outside.
Please ignore FL_Panther, he is trying to recruit new people to join the Watchtower. Sadly, many have lost their ability to THINK and REASON because the way the JWs study with you leads you to a place where you believe only what they teach. Many very intelligent people like yourself have been misled and suffered greatly for doing so.
BE CAREFUL and don't buy into what you see on the outside. Inside the JW organization is a group of people who force you to follow their rules no matter what! You are not allowed to think for yourself, or you will be threatened with expulsion. They call it disfellowshipping and if you have friends or family who are JW they will never speak to you again. Does that sound REASONABLE and LOVING? Ask yourself if Jesus would ever, ever treat people like that? You know he would not.
BETTER TO CHOOSE a group of friendly people who love you no matter what you do or who you are or how you act. The folks here at jw-net, for the most part (again, please ignore FL Panther for now as he is newly arrived and trying to stir the pot) wonderful and loving and supportive. That's what you THINK you're getting when you sign up to be a JW but it's not true. Their interest is always in bringing more people under their control, and if you or your family have problems well too bad, don't ask them for help. They only love clones of themselves. Very sad.
LOVE YOURSELF and make WISE CHOICES for the rest of your beautiful and wonderful life! You will find lots of compassion and honesty here and we hope you hang out with us and enjoy the new friends you've already begun to make.
HUGS to YOU!

Shared some TTATT with my wife and now she wants us to have a weekly personal bible study
by suavojr inhere is the situation.... a young 19 year old in our congo had a fallout with his parents because of all the restrictions and jw dogma and moved out of the house last wednesday.. to make the story short, the parents went running to the elders and what was the comfort?.
coe said: i saw that coming!
your son never reached out to get baptized.. then the other elder said: don't worry, you still have one left that will be saved.

Whats the difference between a rank and file member and a G.B.member .
by smiddy inand r.& f. member , initially beleived with our whole soul that jehovahs witnesses had the ultimate truth over every other religion .. the differences between the g.b.
members and the r&f members is simply this.
members are given power and authourity by the r.&f members to dictate to them what they should beleive through new light revelations.

While the R&F think they are doing the right thing...the GB knows they are doing the wrong thing, and they do it anyway.

So how many of us had guilt pangs because our WT was not highlighted?
by cultBgone inwe attended several different congregations in different states, and the one common thread among them all was...if you had your study article highlighted, you were a good jw.. honestly, how often did you cover over your magazine when the attendant walked by handing out copies to visitors?.
sheesh.
would anyone believe how weird this organization really is?.
