I'm with Crazyguy....your goal should be peace, with you the rational peacemaker. It's a win-win.

Were you surprised when you went in service for the first time....
by Muddy Waters inwere you surprised when you went in service for the first time (this question is prob for those who were not born-in) --.
when i first had the "privilege" of going in field service as an unbaptized publisher, i remember feeling so surprised at everybody's apparent slowness.
all the talks at the kh emphasized how we were in the last days, doing a life saving, critical, never to be repeated, work, etc., yet you get in the car group and ignore people walking right by or coming toward the car, and then slowly walk from house to house.

Me? I was terrified. The pio sis who studied with me failed to prepare me, but much worse, she told me that she took weekends off...yet told me I had to go out on Saturday. I should have just returned home after being sent to knock on doors alone.

A glaring example of how Watchtower's insertion of "Jehovah" corrupts the NT
by Island Man in"the rnwt replaces "kyrios" (lord) with "jehovah" in translating romans 14:8 as follows:.
"for if we live, we live to jehovah,*+ and if we die, we die to jehovah.
* so both if we live and if we die, we belong to jehovah.".

The word "chiasm" comes from the Greek letter Chi (X). The "X" in Xmas represents the Greek letter "Chi".
Doug
Now THAT is a cool trivia point! I always thought it was used by people not wanting to use "Christ" because they didn't believe in the holiday....thanks!

In the US you can get a Bunn coffee maker for the home (same brand as the large ones in restaurants). They last forever as the water tank is stainless steel, and they begin to brew almost instantly as the tank holds hot water. You pour in say, 32 ounces of cool water and the Bunn pushes out 32 ounces of hot water, using a spray head to saturate all the grounds.
I highly recommend grinding your own beans, the flavor is wonderful and it only takes a minute in the morning. PM me if you want specific brand recommendations!

Why Did the Governing Body Change Their Interpretation Of Matthew 24:45-47?
by Cameron_Don insome have wondered if "captives of a concept" had anything to do with why the governing body changed their interpretation of the most important scripture in their theology at their annual meeting on october 6, 2012.. this is because the book places great emphasis on the societys interpretation of matthew 24:45-47 and then holds them to it while examining the organizations history to make sure that went on in its history fits their interpretation.
this comparison is essential to the societys claim to being gods organization.. their previous interpretation came from their former most imminent bible scholar president frederick franzs in his "gods kingdom of a thousand years has approached.
" their history comes from their "jehovahs witnesses proclaimers of gods kingdom.".

Knowing your "enemy" allows you to effectively fight against them. I would not be surprised that current elders and others lurking on this site do so looking only to fortify their own anti-apostate views, which means they do know the facts but choose to continue the distortion. For some, ttatt will reach their hearts and for that we are all happy. But others use the information from this site only to keep their local sheep inside the fence, and have no problem lying to them to do so. Anyone stating they have read CoC and portraying Ray Franz as bitter is obviously lying...but it's their choice of "theocratic warfare" to maintain their positions of power.
