Old news. This was read out at our last service meeting. It's been PDF'd here for days.
And it's not even BOE only. It's to the congregation.
True. But it's still incredibly ridiculous that anyone believes this nonsense.

why would you proceed to invite me to their meetings?
wtf?
how much clearer can i make my stance????
I wonder, if when someone they know to be a "good" person decides to leave -- not because they've been offended/stumbled, or had an affair, or started smoking, or wanted to become a wealthy ceo -- what does that do to a still-in jdub's thinking process?
While most will call Satan's world as the culprit, or hidden sins (cause why else would you leave the borg), surely there is at least one person with some residual thinking ability who gets jarred into doing some research.
Because when a good, intelligent person leaves and they stay... surely there's not an easy way to restore balance to the neurons going crazy in their brain. They may not take instant action, but that nagging question might just be added to many more like it to make their exit a future reality.
edited to add as I just saw this: As Vidiot said more succinctly: Because they hope, deep down, to prove to you (and therefore, themselves) that it's not.
it's been a long time since i posted.
for a brief recap, i have an aunt who is one of jehovah's witnesses.
when i was really sick, i sought out their group because i remembered the support my aunt had and how they were like a second family to her.
Resi, thanks for this post. It's a fact that people get, as Slimboyfat said, "sucked into" the jdubs when they are at a low point in life, or feel they have a hole to fill. Your story shows this to be true, yet you had the resilience to back away when you realized they were not truly a loving group of people.
It's sad that you are disconnected from those you befriended. Truly it's their loss as you seem to be a really compassionate, well-rounded person. Unfortunately, the same conditional thinking that led to you being turned down for baptism is what led to you being cast aside as a friend. Those young women are locked inside a cage not of their own making.
as most of you know i have been shunned by my family for 2 years because of a photo posted on facebook of me kissing another girl at a party.
the matter was not dealt with fairly but it is over now and i am 100% certain that jdub org is a cult.
but i miss my family so much.
Sarah, we feel your pain. Being involved in the cult with a hundred faux-friends all the time and then finding yourself basically alone is a huge leap. Older adults who do it are lonely too, and miss their still-in family members like crazy.
I certainly understand your reasoning for wanting the shunning to stop.
But as Cappytan says, what guarantee do you have that they won't shun
you again if/when you become inactive? Please consider this carefully.
Right now your emotions have a tight grip on your thinking, but
remember that jdubs prey on your emotions so you may have a really tough
time ever leaving again. What will that do to your head now that you know TTATT?
You mentioned in your OP that your family was really close before you became jdubs, but how were things once everyone was Culticized?
listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.
@DataDog - On the other hand, I love Jeehoober, Jay-hoobar, Jeehobo, Jeehoobidoob and Jeehoover!
And let's not forget one of our Hispanic friend's fave: Jahlapeno!
went to a market yesterday and there it was a cart manned by a middle-aged women and a young one.
in a really respectful, friendly manner i approached them and enquired if watchtower society had done anything about its "two witness policy" post royal commission.
knew nothing of 2 witness rule.

Yes, from what I understand the petitions don't require only US citizens but the age requirement is at least 13 years old, I believe.

It appears the petition only has two more weeks to remain posted and is in need of 99k+ additional signatures.
a hilarious stupid wa message is being circulated amongst jws in my area / country.. i had a hearty laugh at the ignorance and stupidity and brainwashed mentality, different people may express different emotions so you have been warned.
day one after armageddon it seems ages since we last heard the gunshots and screams, today has been really quiet.
the last few weeks have been sheer terror.
