  Bill Bowen's unfortunate attack

  like carl olof jonsson, this is the first time i have ever written to this forum.

  i have decided to do so, however, because i am saddened at what bill bowen has chosen to do in reference to ray franz.

  let me say that i given bill full marks for publicizing an issue child abuse and the watchtower cover up of it and for taking a stand that has cost him a great deal personally.

  i was just thinking about a discussion i had a few years ago when i was still an active jw... .

  i asked a pioneer sister why so many people accused jws of brainwashing.

  she happily responded, "well, they accuse us of brainwashing because that is what we do.

  Unfortunately the whole thing with Ray/Bill has been blown out of proportion and Ray really doesnt need defending anymore, I think out of 7000 people who visit here less than 10 would attack Ray, even Bill Bowen has stated that Ray is a good man, as far as I can see the arguments here are no longer between Ray or Bill but just between those who want to keep bashing BB and adding fuel to the flickering ashes.

  I guess that child abuse was kept undercover during Ray's and your time in the WTS, it wasnt widely publicised in any sector of Society. But that doesnt mean that the WTS was innocent of all charges, it still produced a people who feared bringing reproach on the org, it still had its manipulating tactics. It was still an ideal religion for peds even then, the reputation of the Org being saved is not a new thing to our generation, it began with Joseph R.

  We just need balance and then we can all move on doing what we feel led to do.

  . 5 out of the 7 havent done anything about it.

  Refiners you could tip the police off about these 5, A friend of mine has just tipped the police of about a hidden abuser in a JW congregation, it is now being investigated, as it stands the friend has letters from JWs speaking of this hidden abuser so they have proof. Maybe I am speaking out of my hat, could you tip the police of to investigate even if you dont have proof? Maybe they will uncover the proof.

  Refiners I know of a few outside the borg, but the point is all of those have organisations set up to help them to come to terms with the evil they have experienced, now the WT also has one up and running along side it to help those within its walls, it doesnt do their PA attempt any good to have an anti-abuse org esspecially for them, SilentLambs has given the platform to those who are forbidden to even talk about their abuse without being called gossipers or liars. The ones I know outside the borg are allowed and encouraged to go to the police at the appropriate time. Gagging the victim is more prevelant in the WT than it is outside these days, so these kind of victims are not so prevelant outside.

  howdy pleasuresome, only just got your post on another thread saying who you were!

  i was away for 2 days and am away again tomorrow for 2 more days....anyway great to see you here, i just started posting here a month ago (and 100 posts already lol, c'mon you need to get a move on and catch up).

  btw concerning your "wt police" post, i also went to wolverhampton conventions but used to volunteer most of the time which meant i had to go to other conventions, mostly cardiff but sometimes cpalace.
