Jeanniebeanz,
off the top of my head these come to mind: Hebrews 11:13-16 (changed to fit earthly hope, see also Matt 8:11), Hebrews 12:23? changed to fit the "annihalation" doctrine. John 14:14.(prayer to Jesus) John 17:3 Changed to "knowledge" rather than Knowing, as if somehow taking in knowledge of someone was the same as personally knowing someone.
Theres a whole host of changes, this is all off the top of my head.

Do You Look Down On People Because They Don't Agree With You??
by minimus inwhen i read some comments here, it seems that some can be so full of themselves that if they are disagreed with, they will mock, castigate, or be elitist with their condescending opinions.
very ''jehovah's witnessy".

Has anyone got anything positive from being a JW?
by diamondblue1974 in.
i hear and read alot about peoples experiences and some are pretty horrendous....does anyone actually feel they have benefited from being a jw at least in one way or another...me personally i feel i benefited from the ministry school as public speaking is part of my job and has definately improved career prospects?.

Has anyone got anything positive from being a JW?
I noticed that after I left I had a lot of empathy to release. Empathy for those who were disfellowshipped and shunned. Empathy for those I left behind in the movement. Empathy for this and Empathy for that! So I think, what I'm trying to say is, had I have not been so stone cold as a JW I may have never understood what true empathy for people meant. I also understand now what it means to care for people unconditionally, maybe I would never have understood that if I hadnt have spent so many years in a movement where everything is based on conditions.
Ya get my drift?
Nice thread!

Well apart from Hillary Step I cant think of anyone else I look down upon, so I guess I'm not very Jehovah's witnessy anymore.

Lol @ this thread!
I left the Watchtower by primarily reading the New World Translation and the Kingdom Interlinear. They make an interesting combination, anyone reading both will see how biased the NWT is and how they have deliberately changed words to fit their own doctrine . Yes, used this way, even the NWT can lead a person to "the truth".
As for King James only, darn, they are a group to be contended with, real fanaticle and a head ache to say the least!.

WHY are you here ? (on the board)
by frenchbabyface in.
.
ok ... to me it's not totally related to jw life actually, i'm here because i'm used now to chat with people (you know like you go into a cafe and share wathever you want with whoever as this board is very rich and full for immediat interaction), support them, get some support ... i just like that ... also of course it's very interesting at the same time to follow some news and get information that i might spit back to my familly in time to wake them up .... what about you ?
