Hey Eman with the lump in his pants! If you'd had proper medical attention pronto, they might have been able to apply leaches to your lump.....which would have sucked the engorgement and you would have been limp (not swollen) as usual.
They've found out those little suckers actually do good on lumps like yours.

hello people, first a little background on myself.
i was born and raised a catholic.
one of the other members posted a subject about the watchtower being a cult.
Catholic, eh? I was raised an Irish Catholic - schools & all. Seduced into having a jw "spiritual family" .....and 30 yrs later, found my freedom.
Sites like this forum were a tremendous help. Most of us are xjw's - but some of us are still jw's. I'm officially still a jw - I want to keep my family who are still jw's.
There's a court case in Tennessee currently because a jw woman, Barbara Anderson (who was a researcher for jw headquarters) exposed the child abuser problem within the jehovah's witnesses. She was kicked out (disfellowshipped). When that happens, a person is labeled a "serious sinner worthy of everlasting death" - or labeled as an apostate, which is worse "a fighter against Jehovah and worthy of being killed by Jehovah and everlasting death."
Barbara & Joe Anderson (who was basically df'd because he was married to her) - are fighting in court slander by the WT.........because they're NOT serious sinners and NOT fighters against God - they just want to help abused children.
The judge asked the jw attorney if there was any way a jw could openly dissent against the WT and still be a jw. The attorney was mock sad & said "no." And he defended slandering Barb & Joe (and others who presented evidence on Dateline) because the WT was a church & was protected by the constitution.....even when they hurt people.
So you can see, the jw's you met on Prince's website are like the cult organization that trains them......no room for dissention. Blind obedience to the Watchtower.....because the Watchtower is God's Organization and no person can come to God without going first through His Organization....the Watchtower.
Remember when that prime position belonged to Jesus Christ? Not among jw's......it belongs to the Watchtower.

my mother told me that last night's meeting was about how we all simply have to do more.
if we are asked to work on a saturday, we should know that saturday morning belongs to jehovah and that the automatic answer simply is "no, that time is set aside for jehovah.
" he said our congregation is down to 60 something publishers and we simply just can't afford to lose anymore..... he gave an example of a boy and his dad that were out hunting.

we have all fantasized about never having been jw's, how would your life of been different (better or worse) if your family(parents) would of never joined the jw's.. hypothetical question i know.
but fun to think about it.. for me, i might of actually had a family, instead of being ignored and critized for not going to meetings.. for my family, it goes back to my grandmother (who is now 100), who started the crap line going.

As some people think who are abused.........if that hadn't happened, life would have been so much better in all ways. Naaaaaaaaaa, they just wouldn't have been abused & the ramifications of those actions.
But as for the childhood life itself? Well, you could have still had crappy parents, school, stupidity, lost chances, no looks, non-friends, etc......just not adding abuse to it.
I was raised with Catholic mother & atheist father. Sunday morning meant I was in church or I KNEW I'd burn in hell if I died before I could get to confession on Monday morning. I became a jw to escape THEM.
Our family celebrated holidays - and they weren't all great. Never had a birthday party. Dated cute guys & proms were nice. Btw, had full art scholarship & another offer to attend Hofstra free..........but my father made damned sure I knew that I could not do "those things." Interesting enough, I didn't.
Too bad the jw's gave me a "spiritual family," eh? If they hadn't, I most likely would have enlisted for nursing & ended up in VietNam.......crazy and/or dead.

boy and his dad that were out hunting. The father says, "It's 5 o'clock and mom has supper waiting for us now. We have to go home and run or else we'll be late." The boy doesn't quite run fast enough until he sees a large animal running after him. Then he actually speeds pasts his dad!....
All the comments so far are so insightful........obviously, this is an Xjw gathering. One point, however, it's not the CO who's the large animal chasing the two........it's the Wild Beast - the WTBTS.
The moral of the story is, even if we don't believe we can run in our race to serve Jehovah and endure, if we REALLY wanted to, we could.....

they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.
my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.

Some good pros & cons about this:
Stalking laws are getting tight - as shown above by Elamona. A group of zealous religious (cultish) women who waited outside your home to take many pictures of others entereing your home might be considered stalking. The pictures are proof of the stalking....dorks.
JW women who show elders that they should follow female lead will not be dealt with politely. Jezebel Influence, humph. - as shown by JT.
And you also have shouldered the entire burden of your jw mother's care. You're even employing another jw to help in this care. If you didn't take your mother into your home.........would the jw's care for her? Noooooooooooooo - there's jw money & jw reputation involved here too.
Btw, if a person is df'd or da'd & loses business or business opportunities directly because of the shunning involved............well, that's NOT covered under the first amendment freedom of religion. That's business & money - and the Courts are seeing it that way.
Could be viewed as discrimination too. An employee who was forced to quit an employer or be df'd/da'd.

i have a small tree so i got a package of small ornaments that are about 2 inches in diameter.
when i bought them i did not notice that the tops do not have hooks like i expected, instead they have very small loops.
these loops are too small to slide on to the branches of the tree, so am i supposed to use little twist-ties or something?

As for the ornament hooks.........you can purchase a whole box of them in silver or green color. Obviously, if you're tree's green - green is "a good thing." I was amazed at how easy it was - last year was my first heathen celebration, btw.
I have a good tabletop tree (prestrung with lites - cause I don't get into stringing lights)....but it wobbled slightly. Florist wire works great - and it's green. I just strung a length of that fine thin wire around the whole 4 ft tree, and stablized it to the window shutters behind it (tree was close to wall).
If the tree fell, well, my whole wall would too. I didn't tell my husband my trick.............figured he would think duct tape would work better. Probably would have - but it doesn't come in green.
If one likes to shop around, after Christmas you can pick up marvelous stuff up to 75%+ off.
I bought generic plain stuff the first year before Christmas.......then after, bought some great stuff one at a time. The generic ornaments? This year they go into a big glass container on table. Gonna get my glue gun out (feminine version of duct tape) & make a wreath out of the extra generic ornaments.
The first year was kinda expensive..........but we forget - most other people have accumulated ornaments for decades. After the first year, no big deal on decoration expense.
The color, glitter, shiny, old-fashioned, whatever is marvelous fun!

i was just a little kid when the 1975 thing came about, didn't pay much attention to it, after it was over, my parents told me it was just some people being over anxious, and being about 8 at the time i believed it, now when you research you find some amazing articles.
what do you remember being told about 1975 as the year got closer ?
1968...............ohhhhhhhhhhhh the irony. The year I graduated & started dating a jw dropout hippie who was having a study........and I sat in on the study.
30 yrs later.......ah well. At least I dumped the jw dropout hippie who was my first husband.
