a concept car that is designed for and will be marketed exclusively to jehovahs witnesses will be unveiled through a series of international religious assemblies in the summer of 2002.. the car, developed secretly in conjunction with the toyota motor corp and the watchtower bible and tract society in new york, is designed to optimize publisher performance in the churchs evangelical membership drive and to leave a good public impression about jehovahs witnesses.
biometric sensors built into the car's steering mechanism also monitor a driver's pulse and galvanic skin response - sweat level - for signs of agitation, and play smoothing religious songs when the driver is upset.
if the church member fails to spend at least 3 hours on the weekend in the assigned local area to engage in evangelical activity, the car's computer will issue an alert from a display on the dashboard or send a wireless message to the local headquarters.
Hey Skipper,
thanks.. Yeah, I saw that a few days ago, and actually sent it to a few of my friends saying you gotta see this.. I didn't have any JW jokes at the time, but I did send it to my JW friend.. Too bad I didn't think of this stuff then :-)
Oh, and while we are at it, I say they should just eliminate the middle men.. (oops, no disrespect intended to the God-F&DS-Great crowd arrangement <G>)..
Maybe the car itself should approach pedestrians on the street, and offer then some friendship and follow that up with a quick verse from one of their bible aids..
Just think, the car can do a complete 'lesson' complete with questions without any human intervention..
The car can be the first line in the brainwash train...
And, if the pedestrian asks a question that the car doesn't like, or doesn't have an answer to, it will
A.) Inform Brooklyn so they can come up with another dumb answer
B.) Answer with, "I'm not programmed to respond in that area"..
Wow! And it will take care of the Ohio lawsuit over getting a permit, too, since cars are already registered :-)

TOKYO, Oct. 18 — Think you don’t have enough of an emotional attachment to your car? A new vehicle developed by Japan’s Toyota Motor Corp. and electronics giant Sony Corp. will smile, frown and cry, not to mention take your pulse and measure your sweat.

Awww,
You people make Field Service sound sooo much fun that I kinda feel that I missed out in my life..
Quick, looking in phone book for local KH #.. Maybe I'll give them a call and tell them I'm interested...
Hey, I think there should be another thing added to the car:
The automatic brainwashing mirror.. When you look into the mirror to fix your hair, it sends out hypnotic suggestions, such as:
* Apostates are evil
* Armageddon is right around the corner (Literally if you get into an accident right around the corner, at which time, the computer on board notifies Bethel that a prediction of theirs did indeed come true, and automatically update a future Watchtower article with the 'good news')
The car also checks via advanced biometrics if the car has 2 and only 2 people in it, and they are of the opposite sex.. If so, the car automatically sprays cold water on the occupants and informs the local elders...
There is also a rumor that a large building contractor is working with the WT to design and build JW smart houses.. These houses will have built-in features to protect the 'spiritual' cleanliness of the individual occupants. If any infractions are noted, the house notifies the local elders, but the builder and WT at a joint press conference said this was for the occupants own good..
The nly way to shut the house up is to DF or DA yourself, at which time the house will refuse to talk to you anymore...
just a few loose ends and random thoughts for a select group of readers who have not been completely defrauded of your faith.. on the topic of stumbling: stumbling typically involves the mistakes of others whether real or perceived.
the reason jehovah does not consider any stumbling block as a valid reason for abandoning ones faith is because a persons faith should be in jehovah and christ in the first place.
and since god most assuredly did not let his worshipper down, what a fellow believer does or does not do should have no bearing upon our personal relationship with our heavenly father.
Ok You KNow:
I'll bite:
You said:
"no one is saying "if this is gods organization, it should be PERFECT". i havent heard one "apostate" or non-believer say anything even remotely close to this. yk, you continue to show your foolishness."
Let me explain it to you, at least from my point of view.. That of a lolely non-JW who believes with all his heart that a god exists, and does his humble best to serve him without any human help..
The F&DS has made mistakes in the past, that is a fact that every JW admits to..
In which case, since it is already established that they are not perfect, they will make mistakes in the future as well.
However, in order to be a JW in good standing, you must accept and follow to the letter everything the F&DS states, as if it comes from god himself.. For, if you even question the F&DS, you are told that you are 'spiritually weak' and questioning god himself. The 'fear' of questioning God keeps you from doing anything against the F&DS, not to mention the fear of being shunned by those you love most, your family and friends...
The F&DS that has been known to make mistakes, will most likely make more mistakes (in fact, probably is making mistakes at this very moment we are not even aware of), yet they certainly cannot be considered 'humble'? Why are they not humble, but instead haughty?
They make decisions that effect 6 Million lives every day, and even though they know they are not perfect, as does every witness, they continue to do so, with absolutely NO room for discussion or compassion:
You want a Blood Transfusion, fine, but it will be your choice to distance yourself from God. If you die but don't take a transfusion, god will accept you. If you take a transfusion but live, we will consider you going against God, kick you out of the organization, and shun you, but the choice is yours!!! (Some choice)
You want a military card, fine, but it will be your choice to distance yourself from god.. If you goto jail because you don't take one, god will accept you. If you get a military card, we will consider you going against God, kick you out of the organization, and shun you, but the choice is yours!!! (see a pattern developing about your 'choice' in life?)
- Let's also not forget about the hypocrisy practiced by the F&DS over these very issues as well.. In some places, it's ok to get a Militiary card, while in others it's forbidden.. And, I heard somewhere where they recently 'softened' on the Transfusion issue in certain countries because of status reasons.. I was taught that god hates 'uneven scales'...
And the list goes on and on..
If the F&DS have made errors before, don't you think that it would be prudent for them NOT to take an absolute position about issues that involve life/death or freedom/jailing for their 'flock'? How is that protecting the flock? Quite the contrary, they are endangering the flock by forcing them to follow rules which cannot be verified as coming from God himself.
They have no way of knowing for sure if that is what god wants or not, because how can you tell when they are in error? You cannot.. If you could, you would be able to stop the error, wouldn't you..
So, everything they say and do should be questioned.. Yet, you cannot question anything.. And 6 Million JW's follow blindly along with whatever they say, even if it means death, or loss of freedom, or 'do not have a beard or whatever'...
They act like a dictator, my word is law, my word comes from god, and even if it's wrong, you will follow or we will banish you..
You have proven our point.. You are serving man, not god.. Because if you were serving god, you wouldn't be following the mistakes of other humans.. You'd have a personal relationship with god, listen to him with your heart (Trust me, if you open your heart and ask honestly he will respond), and follow only him..
But, instead 6 Million JW's follow blindly the F&DS, knowing full well that they have made mistakes, will make more mistakes, and are only human.. But, that is your choice..
You choose to follow humans in complete servitude all the while believing that you are following god.. Not only are you a slave, but you are also practicing idol worship, it's just your idols are humans in Brooklyn that somehow have tricked you into believing that they are God..
You worship every word the F&DS slave states, as if it comes from god himself.. Well, as even you agree, the F&DS slave have made mistakes.. Since god himself cannot make mistakes, how do you reconsile the fact that the F&DS claim that they are 'speaking' for god himself?
F&DS = mistakes
God = No mistakes
F&DS cannot be god's mouthpiece.
6 Million JW's are Idol worshipers and also slaves.. I feel absolute pity for all of you, but the choice is yours..

when i was young, there was a rumor through out our circut, that the smurfs were demonized.
we were told at once to destroy all smurf toys, dolls, and figures.
there were storys flying around about talking smurf statue figures, that would get up and walk across the floor, ect... does anyone remember this, or did it only happen in my part of the world?
Dark Knight said:
"The story I heard was that some kid took one of his little smurfs to the kingdom hall and during the meeting it got up and walked out on it's own! "
Wow! Who would have thunk a toy was smarter then the rest of the congregation, and could detect crap when it heard it, and "Get out of her"..
Even the toys know the truth!!!
hawk was most helpful in supplying letter to the board here a day or so ago re: wtbts membership of dpi un.. i rang the media department in london today who said that they were well aware of the letter and its contents.. asked why the organisation seems to be in contradiction to its litureture the wt and awake, concerning the beast of revelation, i was told by the department that the society has never been affiliated to the un.
the only reason why they belonged to the dpi was to access their, (the un), library resources.. i asked if the comments (non-affiliation) could be sent to me via email.
i was told that that was not nessarsary as the un had already supplied information.
Hey,
Just to remind everyone.. I remember an article somewhere about the WTBTS flying in a UN plane which had a rough landing, and the FAA had to investigate.. Even got a statement from the WT guy..
Hmmm, amazing how "library" cards can get you onto UN flights too..
That's a pretty powerful card, considering there was no signature..
I'm starting my own Non-Profit tomorrow, just so I can have access to the "vast library" at the UN.. Seems the fringe benefits are really worth it.. I wonder if they have routine flights to Hawaii? Always wanted to goto Hawaii!!! <G>
"Hey, I really don't support you or your organization, but I have this really shiny library card.. Do you mind if I hitch a ride so I can tell everyone else just how much of a beast you really are? Thanks. I don't care what Jehovah says about you, you really are a good egg!"
i remember that when i was a witness, seeing certain phrases would trigger the response: "aha, this must be from an apostate!".
those words and phrases included:.
"the watchtower society"--because the brothers would usually just call it "the society" and because this was, of course, merely a legal instrument the brothers used to advance the preaching work.. "the governing body"--because despite the power they may wield, the governing body does stay in the background personality-wise most of the time and has done so pretty much since the days of knorr; therefore, i regarded any attempts to point to them as personally important as suspicious (and can recall being charmed in an odd way a few years ago when a brother giving a public talk was unable to recall the name of the society's current president).. "the rank and file"--obviously this was insulting because jehovah's witnesses have no clergy-laity division!
Doesn't anything that speaks the 'real' truth send up flags with the JW's?
Just curious
here is the official response from the watchtower to the un scandal.
paul gillies did send this letter to the guardian:.

Hmmm, makes ya wonder about that whole "unity" thing doesn't it.. If the HQ and branches cannot get together, then how are they expected to keep all the 6 Million in unity?
Soo much for one of their "We know we are gods people by the fruits of our labor" reasons...
several posters have asked what i thought of the.
revelations about the wt being associated with the un.
as an ngo so i thought i might make a brief comment on.

Hehehehe... I can confirm that alot of corporations spent big bucks on Y2K.. If you were single handedly responsible for the Y2K scare, then I know alot of companies that would love to talk to you <laugh>..
Hey, I was nice, keep the Anthrax away from me please <g>..
It's very refreshing to see humor here, laughter is good for the sole!!!! Thanks for lightening up the moment!!!!
