i've never been on a website that doesn't allow you to delete your own personal messages.

why can we not do that on this site?

what are your motives in keeping our personal messages?

The tryanny of words: an atheists (Cofty) says " I promote reason"

The position of this atheist is that he is a "man of reason"

and all believers are not capable of reason, he is in fact 'better'

than they are, superior mentally and has clearer thinking than

believers whose ideas he describes as 'myths' placing himself

above them as if they are mentally defective. he claims to have

an "evidence based view of life" and seeks to "clear up your confusion"

So what he is saying is; believers do not use any evidence in

their world view and are confused, wheras, he, by comparision

is fully enlightened, smarter and wiser than all believers.

He views himself as a "Great Teacher" and we are his pupils.

What are his qualifications ? Well, he has none.

(read his posts for evidence) He never graduated from a university

or it was implied in one of his posts he may not have finished high school.

By comparison; lets examine some real statistics; of the entire population

of persons with advanced degrees, that is post graduate degrees, in all fields

including science, fully 60% believe in a personal God. And to narrow it down

to a very elite class; astro physicists and top ranking physicists running major

university departments, a full 7% believe in a personal God.

But this man Cofty, hold himself up as more "reasonable", having more "evidence",

quailfied to teach us, and having the authority to demand we "learn"

something from him. ( substitute "obey him" or be verbally punished )

I submit, this man believes himself to be some sort of one man governing body.

To which we should go for directions and thinking advice. How very JW.

i remember years ago when i was a little boy aroung 9 years old, our bookstudy conductor was in the hospital and at the last minute one of the elders asked my aunt to be the book study conductor.

this was the first time i have seen this happen.

my aunt did a very good job and the bookstudy acted as it was not something from outer space.

the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.

"at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

CANDACE CONTI & THE NEW CONTRIBUTION DEMAND

when the org lost the candace conti case, the court ordered (pending the appeal) that the org would have to deposit several million$ as security.

the puzzling thing is, the org got a bond company to put up the millions, thereby incurring heavy interest charges.

i've always wondered, 'why?????????'.

Congregation Pledge Disgusted Elder

at the meeting the other night, the elder who had to read the announcements, which included the $$ info for the new donation arrangement seemed downright disgusted as he read the announcements and asked for the vote.

he said, "well, here is another organizational change" as he read the letter about the discontinuation of the 2nd meeting during co visit.

then after they voted, he said if you have any questions ask this other elder as if he wanted nothing to do with it.

What's the most dumbest/petty thing you've heard of someone being "stumbled" over?

- some loser once took offense that i hugged a sister goodbye at a leaving do and ran back to the elders like a little child telling on me.

i was 15, this sister was in her 40s at the time.. - this elder said someone told him they saw me with a copy of the sun newspaper.

yes, this paper is known for its 'page 3' topless girls but far from pornagraphic and i wasn't even thinking along those lines.. - one brother who had a good job was 'counselled' because he was actually able to buy himself nice things including a new car (shock, horror!!

I hope someone told her it was actually associated with baseball and Mickey Rooney.

I was "marked" and my 5 year old daughter because I was going to university.

Need some help from you guys

so recently i've been preparing to move out of my parents house, and i've been seeking social assistance.

at my appointment, my social worker asked me for references to people who know about my situation at home.

i know probably nnone of you guys know me too well personally, or my home life, but i know all of you guys have been through similar situations.

How old are you ? Where do you live ? Canada or the USA ?

Have you graduated from high school ?

What is your grade point average? Financial assitance is available for students.

There is on campus housing. If you can make that transition;

from high school to university/college you will have freedom

and a place to live(dorms or shared housing) and money to live on

through work-study and financial aid. If your parents resist this idea

and try to prevent you or will not support you to go to school to

get a trade or some employable skills, or a university education,

and they lock your in your room, or abuse you, verbally, emotionally,

physically or sexually, then you have reason to involve child protection.

You are being abused spiritually, because the WT is a shame based

spiritually abusive society. But if you are in a tolerable, situation with

simple, deluded KH goers, who in other ways are fairly normal, then you

need to develop your own life strategy and plan around them.

Tell them you are so impressed with the WT's, JW org site you want to

study computer programming and animation at college and go to Bethel

someday when you acquire these skills. Hopefully they will break out in

happy grins and open their wallets and off you go.

Chautauqua Salute makes a comeback at the Indianapolis Regional convention 7/13/14

as the regional convention ended in indianapolis, mark sanderson invited all the international delegates to come out onto the field for the final song.

as they walked out, they all held a white handkerchief aloft as they waved.

some in the audience waved a white cloth in return.

I think they are trying to find a way to get money flowing

in without having to produce magazines, they already have

reduced them in pages and issues. They also reduced field service.

Next they will increase the entertainment. Once those pledges are

signed they will see the value of retention and eliminate disfellowshipping.

Then they will form softball teams and bring back congregation picnics and

even add all witness cruise ships. They may even do some actual charity work.

I believe they are trying to find methods of 'branding' themselve.

JW org and also the return of musicical instruments, they have

read the descriptions ex-jws have made of the dreary nazi like

meetings and regimented, souless and redundant atmosphere

in the KH and they are trying to increase the sense of 'belonging'

"this is my people" " I love the organization" Its like a political party,

or a national identity, a brand loyalty, it needs symbols, the jw org

website is a symbol for them, then the objects, the white flags, hats,

pins. Its a marketing strategy. They want to go from weirdos to being cool.

The doctrines will become secondary and changing them all the time

will be a form of expectation, as it always has been. Less books will

leave less track record and less of a paper trail, they can just update

the web site and pretend last years false prophesy, never existed.
