  in the last 6 months my family and i have stopped attending cold turkey.

  it is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders.

  we actually havent really said anything to anybody about why we stopped.

  You saved your children at an early age.

  I hope your read Crisis of Conscience to cleanse your mind

  and conscience completely of any lingering ideas

  you might retain that the WT has any value or credibility.

  I hope you are able to rid yourself of the fear of birthdays

  and holidays of every kind and fully integrate yourselves into

  deep connections in your community and find new loyal friends

  who will stick with you through thick and thin. Please start inviting

  school children over from your neighborhood and school chums

  your children probably already have and tell them YES, you may

  accept birthday invitations and YES you can join scouts and YES

  you can play softball and do activities like other kids do.

  And in 7 or 8 years start talking to that now 6 years old, about

  how to get into a good college and help them develop their skills.

  And please, get rid of all the toxic Watchtower "Bible Study" aids.

  You are so fortunate to have made it out with family intact.

  the mormons, baptists, pentecostals and many other religions have more members without the preaching work.. in your opinion, is 7 million members way too many for all the odd beliefs, doctrines and practices ?

  or, should be more members since they have had over 140 years of being in the religion business?.

  I read one statistic that one million people have exited

  the watchtower cult since 1975. They have the lowest

  retention rate of any religion on the planet, people just leave,

  more people leave than are DF, many who are "in"

  are not in for real, they are faking it for family or because

  they work for jw business, or just haven't a clue how to connect

  or become employed on the outside.

  So to the original question: YES there should be more

  to a "great crowd" on a planet with over 7 billion humans.

  The Great Crowd is obviously Christendom.

  The absolute blind arrogance of Jehovah's Witnesses to ignore the fact that there are well over 2 BILLION Christians in this world, all acceptable to God and all having a far superior grasp of what Christianity is than the WT Society ever told them. The bulk of Christians are not in America, they are in sub-Saharan Africa, and the Asian Pacific. This tiny American eccentric, governing body worshipping cult has no reasons to believe they are the sole channel God is dealing with and the idea is absurd on its face.

  Universal - Inclusive - not EXclusive -

  Every 24 hours 122,000 new Christians are baptized globally

  that works out to 44,530,000 each year , or over 455 million

  each year baptized as Christians, world wide, in all denominations.

  Jehovah's Witnesess are not even a blip on this radar and are certainly

  no "great crowd" among these numbers.

  Dawkins attempts to draw some parallel between racism in society and the progression of enlightenment, in the context of a discussion of what he refers to as "mild pedophilia" is disturbing in that the only logical parallel that could exist is the frightening implication here, that racial prejudice is the same as prejudice against adults having sex with children. There are those who propose exactly such an agenda and claim pedophilia is just another 'sexual preference' and fail to see the criminal and moral violation that occurs when the unformed brains and emotions and bodies of children are used and manipulated to the purpose of adults. It is also very likely that there are men on this site or women, who have been protected by the WT Society, discovered molesting children, and have been "forgiven" never prosecuted for their crimes and sit here among us on this board. Out of the heart the mouth speaks, and they reveal themselves.

  Feelings for his own abuser ? Bohm, if you are an abuser and think little children you have sex with have feelings for you, you need to seek help and turn yourself in.

  If you were abused and have "feelings"

  (which would really be a self-destructive attachment)

  for the predator, you need to also seek professional help.

  bohn-dawkins remark on mild pedophelia is purely autobiographical if you actually bother reading the quote: someone fondled dawkins and today he cant make himself condemn the abuser.

  "He can't make himself condemn the abuser"? Really ? As if this is some virtue on his part ? Your own lack of insight and knowledge of, or abilty to reason on, this subject is disturbing. To read what you write, you seem to agree there is "mild" pedophilia that is acceptable. There is no such thing. You are deluded. Exactly why you are deluded, may be because you were raised a JW in a spiritually abusive society where your boundaries were constantly violated, which means you can't tell where you end and the other person begins. As a JW you never experienced or had any model of basic accountability since there is no accountability by the Elders,Overseers or Governing Body. Or perhaps you are convinced the written 'protection policy' of pedophiles, by the WT Society, was justifiable and this man's statement you take as some sort of moral validation of WT practices ? The other possible reasons we can all speculate on.

  This is not a "theist" issue, its a social scientist issue. His reference to racism as some kind of parallel is so off the mark, its hard to know where to begin. Except to say the only reason racism was addressed at all was because a whole segment of society identified it, exposed it, and fought long political battles to eradicate it from policy. Childhood sexual abuse has been studied at length by psychologists , and the case studies are ubiquitous, published, and examined in such depth, that only those with questionable agendas or in complete denial, can ignore. To claim acts of so-called "mild" pedophia, "had no effect" is very similar to the mindset of pedophiles themselves who very regularily claim they "love" their victims and "did not hurt them". I would not leave a child alone with this Dawkins, based on his stated views. An adult leading a child into sexual acts is a basic violation of trust. It is also a shaming of the child, the child takes on the shame, and has two choices, internalize it, or act it out, and deny their boundaries were wrongfully violated. Many pedophiles were themselves sexually abused as children, and took on the identity of the predator. Manipulating a child into participating and then convincing them it was a "mutual decision", is a typical ploy of pedophiles. This statement of Dawkins is not the statement of an enlightened man, it is the statement of man thoroughly disconnected with both his affect and effect.

  yes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.

  they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.

  they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

Your admission that you didn't realize there was any racism is pretty telling, and the fact you live in North America (or the UK) and say you are not aware of the black experience in these societies. Start with 300 years of slavery. The slave trade itself, the exclusion policies, the German based science of Eugenics, that led to philosophies and pseudo science based on the idea that on the evolutionary scale, white men are on top, intellectually, and from this came Hitlar's Super Race the blond blue eyed Aryan Race, that led to the extermination of lesser races in concentration camps. What Nazi considered himself racist ? Its in your bones.
