Gerrit Losch GB guy, likened going to college with putting a bullet through your head ? And tried to shame someone for making it into Harvard ? Warned against studying philosophy? Or wanting to make a better standard of living ? The GB have control over a 200 billion $$ corporation and travel in private planes and have all their food prepared for them and live worry free, and even though they don't want YOU to becomes a Doctor, they have all the free medical care they want any time they want. But when a Bethelite worker gets cancer, they send him home, to fend for himself. I saw that happen to one poor guy in my old congregation. It was sickening to see how they abandoned him when he needed help.

Not meaning to sound sexist : In general are women more emotional/feel good about religion, and men more proof/doctrinal in their acceptance ?
by smiddy ini`m just speaking from my own experience here ,and it has occured to me that over the 33 years i was a witness and in the six congrgations i was a part of , except for a few exceptions, the majority of sisters in the congregations did not have a grasp of the so called deeper things of god, according to wt theology, sure they could run off " bible topics for discussion" sermons but very few could take a discussion any further than that.whereas i was aware that males seemed more likely to delve deeper into, not only the scriptures, but also the wt interpretations as a whole.
don`t get me wrong a few women left me for dead in their comprehension of topics ,but i`m just saying overall i found this to be the case ... my experience... smiddy.

Women can do math, problem solve, organize, create, design, teach, fly airplanes, work as electricians, carpenters, computer programmers, software developers, doctors, lawyers, dentists, physicists, chemical engineers, lead countries, and even start religions ( Ellen G White ? who wrote as many books as Russell and they are still read in the Seventh Day Adventist Church ) Women also write essays, history books, books on philosophy, text books used in universities. This all takes the ability to reason, and delve into complicated and deep issues. What is it about the WT that has done this awful thing to the men ? To cause them to devalue their own mother's, sisters, wives and to see them as limited to some WT assogned "role" ?? Its horrifying to see in the posts on this site of so-called "liberated" men.

To: Tater-T - Its such an old WT teaching I am surprised you still believe it - 'Men think while women feel' Its soo 50's Tater. Men are MORE emotional than women, it just that their emotions tend to be limited to Anger, Agression, and Hitting, or Blowing things UP, or Bombing, Or Serial Killing, or Torture, or the need for self importance over the good of the group, or the need to be Head of everything, Head of the house, Head of the woman, Head of this and Head of that. If fact this King of the Mountain emotional impulse leads to oppression and misery for millions. Emotions ? Men are led by emotions. Arrogance is an emotion. Feelings of superiority, are FEELINGS, therefore emotional in source. Jesus was a man was he not ? Yet his definition of "True Religion" was extremely simple, as in the parable he gave of the Good Samaritan. Reading all sorts of irrelevant nonsense into perfectly worded parables about how people are to treat other people, is gibberish. The WT speaks gibberish and takes itself for wisemen.

If there is a God why didn't he sign our DNA
by scotoma intodays scientists can and do insert their trademark into dna.. why couldn't jehovah anticipate scientists learning this technique and stumbling across a strand that says "human by yhwh"?.
that would have answered a lot of questions.. he could have even included a model number human2.0.

Say What ? You do realize there are thousands of different languages and names for God, even the Jews had different names for him. AND whos to say he didn't sign your DNA and we just don't know how to read it ? We can't even figure out basic animal languages and thats something us human geniuses have been working on for long time. They do better understanding what we are talking about.
Go to the NASA site, look at the Hubble Deep Space photos - and THINK about it.

Can 70 years be symbolic in the Bible?
by Pterist inin isaiah 23:.......tyre will be forgotten for seventy years....the span of a kings life !
in my morning bible reading i came across the above verse were 70 years is equated to the span of a kings life !
the wbts along will many seem to take a very rigid approach with dates and numbers and apply it to date setting end times etc, ...when it may be just a generalization.

Do you think those at the top realise that it's their fault - suicide as a result of being disfellowshipped?
by jambon1 ini have been stunned to hear of two suicides in our area recently.. this adds to the other 3 that i have known of from the past.. the two recent suicides resulted from 1-the person being gay & hearing a horrific talk at the kingdom hall & 2-the person with problems who was disfelloshipped & then took his life the next week.. it astonished me that jw's in general don't rebel against this sort of thing.
it's an appalling lack of support which leads people to feel distressed, abandoned & unloved.
how the witnesses in the locality can just sail on without giving the cruelty of these measures serious though is beyond me.

(1) The members are indoctrinated to believe "there is nothing out there" so that being "cast out" or leaving is being in the "outer darkness" The person who finds themselves , shunned, an "outsider" is devastated, frightened, feeling hopeless. Terrified.
(2) The reality is , there is NOTHING in the WT, not "truth" not "special knowledge" not "original doctrines" It is a spiritual wasteland, devoid of Holy Spirit, NOT the "conduit for Jehovah's Spirit", it is a cold, empty, miserable place spiritually. The "sense" of belonging comes from not belonging to or being connected to the community around you, your neighbors, so in isolation you mistake a desert Island for a refuge, when in actuality, when you look up there is a bridge to the place God really dwells , which is in the hearts and minds of billions of people.
(3) Unqualified, uneducated, males, of usually low intelligence and limited reasoning ability, are elevated to positions way above their abilities and given powers they would never be given in society outside the KH, because their lack of qualifications would be identified.
(4) The WT is a refuge for many men who have failed in the outside world, they are the powerless, the unskilled, the poor, and in the congregation they get to have " a place in the sun" They dress up in suits and ties ( not thier work clothes thats for sure) and assume important sounding titles and strut around like dictators in a banana republic, throwing fear into the hearts of women and children.
(5) Sometimes they band together in nepotistic businesses, like the Sikhs and the Mormons and they ban together to accumulate wealth for their families. But never do the WT men set up charities, or do social services with their money, they live large and hoard their money and show it off with big cars, big houses, drinking, and spending on themselves and on whatever makes them look more important. This behavior, in itself, shows who and what they really are. So to be disfellowshipped is actuallt the best thing that will ever happen to you and if your own family shuns you, they weren't your family, they were caretakers for that part of your life.

Deteriorating content of the WT
by His Excellency inhas anyone noticed the recent deterioration in the quality of wt's contents lately?..
the spiritual food seems to be getting more and more shitty these days.
i have given a thought to what could really be going wrong, and if it is likely that some on the wiriting committee is consciously dishing out those nonsense to facilitate more poeple seeing ttat.

How about some law that says religions who use their money to perform actual service to the community could exempt that money. Things like food and clothing distribution, housing for the homeless, helping widows and orphans, medical services to the sick and wounded, would all be exempt from taxation. Whereas advertising themselves and their beliefs in the form of books and magazines and publishing equipment and land holdings would be subject to normal taxation? That would mean the WT would have NO exemptions.

I do find it very odd that the religion you belong to in America, can take away your freedoms (voting, civil service politically speaking, speaking to loved ones), based on their theology without reprisal.
Scientology ? Cults of all kinds seem to do this, but it is a valid point. In Canada fundamentalist Muslims tried to bring in Sharia Law, ( cuts off hands of thieves, stones women, enforces full body covering of women, some of their famous laws) There was a huge protest and it was never allowed. The "laws" of the GB are as arbitrary, illogical and inexplicable as any in fundamentalist Islam. They seem to divide and conquer their subjects with fear and banishment. The WT society is famous for "Legalism" that is the reputation and definition assigned by those other Christians, you know the 800 million protestants on this planet. I fully believ they lie about their assets, hide money all over the world and live in luxury on hidden estates. Rutherford did, in the mansion in San Diego. Its become a religion of wealthy white men and subservient underlings.

200 billion dollars? American money ? And I bet a lot is in investments of various kinds as well as real estate. Controlled by eight old dudes? Six of whom are senile with age ?? With nobody in congregations involved in money management, or voting on anything ? The Bible indicates the early followers of Jesus voted on things. And money matters were handled in common, and money was distributed and so was food. And it was all transparent. So show us the books. So ask your congregation leaders, "When is the food distribution ? " "When do the widows get some money?" Tell them, "I am poor, so isn't it Biblcal that the Faithful and Discreet Slave, help me in my poverty ?" Ask them, "Aren't we supposed to take care of one another?" Tell them, " we don't need any more books, or magazines, we are all full up." what we need is some real help around here.
