If they made the RC just a downloadable/streamable video, how would all the volunteers and overseers at the convention lengthen their fringes and have any prominent places? There would be no "platform" for any extracurricular, outward apperance of righteousness. We wouldn't want to take away all the greetings in the RC marketplace, now would we?

If "The Feast" of the RC is so vitally important for every JW to consume.........
by Darth Fader The Sequel in....... then why wouldn't the wtbt$ easily make the entire program, complete with rockstar gb's, cheesy dramas, etc, available on youtube or some other free or almost free web streaming service?
obviously it is a huge burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it.
how about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention?

I know 2 of the Elders on the Ray Franz JC
by James Jackson inwhen i read coc, i was stunned that the 2 elders (theotis french & rob dibble) were on ray franz judcial committee.
i have known these men for over 20 years having done rbc and convention work with them.
they are still elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced elders to sit on) on this committee.. without revealing myself, i have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former gb member.. then out of the blue, about a year ago, i was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these elders, and he says"this is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship ray franz".

If the words can be pinned to him (two witnesses rule), I can cause the wheels to be set into motion which will have the disfellowshiper himself disfellowshiped.
Which would be poetic justice.
What justice is it if you use the same fear tactics against them? Does that not make YOU just as guilty? Who's deluded now?

So now you've got . . . 50000 people who all head to the same group of about 10000 seats first, then upon seeing that they're full they go search somewhere else . . . This creates a TON of unneccessary foot traffic (since people can't just go straight to their eventual destination) which just makes the whole process exponentially worse.
I remember when we used to go to Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. Each year we KNEW exactly what you described was going to happen, so my brother and I found this set of three escalators that we took two steps at a time. We could make it to the 600 level concourse in like 3min and nobody was even remotely there. But this was only possible because we used the same large venue year after year and we could find shortcuts. I think things will get better only if the same large facilities are used over and over so that people can get into patterns of self-assigned seating.

Evolution: A Satanic Theory
by cofty inthere is an excellent new article at jehovah's trumpet.... friends, the following article is not about masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, or homosexuality so it may not be appropriate for children.
please use godly wisdom when deciding if your child is mature enough to consider this material.
we are going to have a frank discussion about the theory of evolution.... .

The INTJ Personality Type, (and those close to it)
by done4good ini am compelled to write a bit about this at this late hour here in the us, because it is keeping me up.. the recent four year old thread on the briggs myers personality type test that was dug up, produced an interesting finding.
many here, (at least tested informally for), the intj personality type.
intjs also do not understand irrational behavior particularly well at all.. why does this matter?

I find the online tests fairly accurate, especially, as someone else mentioned, the longer versions. I usually have someone take the one at similarminds.com

It sounds like your experience vouches for the accurracy of the online tests.
I would say that it certainly vouches for the ability of the introverted-NT to know himself, and thus see himself and be himself in an online test, which is a facet that I hold to dearly.
"But there is another saying not of late understood, by which they might learn truly to read one another, if they would take the pains; that is, nosce teipsum, ‘read thyself’: which was not meant, as it is now used, to countenance, either the barbarous state of men in power towards their inferiors, or to encourage men of low degree to a saucy behaviour towards their betters; but to teach us that for the similitude of the thoughts and passions of one man to the thoughts and passions of another, whosoever looketh into himself and considereth what he doth, when he does ‘think,’ ‘opine,’ ‘reason,’ ‘hope,’ ‘fear,’ etc., and upon what grounds; he shall thereby read and know what are the thoughts and passions of all other men upon the like occasions."

Has anyone taken the actual test? Most people take faux tests in books or online. I wonder if the actual test is somehow different. We were told that the test is very expensive. No one gave a price range, though.
I have taken the actual test, at my job about 12yrs ago. I was 19, and came back INTJ. Since then I've never taken the real test, only online tests, everyone of those coming back INTJ everytime. I think this is what led me to be so skeptical of eveyone being INTJ, because the little online tests sometimes remind me of the "what comic book character are you" tests.
Anyway, the link below takes you to the official MBTI website FAQ page, which tells you how you can take the official test.

In other words, the larger evolutionary changes neccessary for survival long term would really involve changes the organization is incapable of making.
We should entertain this theory. We see the organization making some changes recently, though they are minor in comparison to what you're talking about, even including sell-off of property and so forth. What sweeping changes could really be made to ensure survival of such an inhomogenous, delusional sect?

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: The mean-spirit of Russell's sham marriage
by Terry init is commonly known by jehovah's witnesses, the marriage of pastor c.t.russell and his wife maria (moe-rye-uh) was an uneasy one.. the marriage itself was founded on a weird interpretation of "virginity" and "purity" as only an obsessive-compulsive.
puritan fanatic might find agreeable.
the two of them were not to share a bed (or physical relations.).
