Reminds me of the time I was asked to praise the "pioneers assist others" program for an interview at the circuit assembly ( I was the "others"). Only problem was that I was never assisted by the pioneer that was assigned to assist me. We had plans to go in service once but he cancelled them. I told the brothers this but apparently they were desperate for an example to use so they talked me into doing the interview. We came up with some generic stuff, nothing specific to me, but I guess it kept them off the black list. I was about 17 at the time, so it's kind of hard to put your foot down too hard and throw one of your peers under the bus if you don't want to be black listed yourself.

I assume that we are all here because we are searching for answers. So why would we beat up a group of people who are trying to provide help to others who are doing the same thing. If someone else can do it better, why did they get involved with JW's to start with? It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. Instead of beating each other up why not offer our support instead or at least stay out of the way. Anyone who wishes can start their own group if they want to.

This weeks study article: God gave us these truths, yet we admit he hasn't actually given us the truth yet-- think about it

The basis of every argument made by the society stems from the type of fallacy described below:
[An Appeal to Authority is a fallacy with the following form:
- Person A is (claimed to be) an authority on subject S.
- Person A makes claim C about subject S.
- Therefore, C is true.]
Whenever they are backed into a corner and can't logically explain their position they always resort to their "authority".

New light Watchtower magazine leaked from organization weeks ahead of general release
by cedars inhttp://jwsurvey.org/governing-body-2/new-light-watchtower-magazine-leaked-from-organization-weeks-ahead-of-general-release.
if doctrinal explanations are missing from the article, it is because they are also missing from the magazine.. i would like to give my thanks again to my source for supplying me with the magazine article weeks ahead of its scheduled release.
it showed remarkable courage, because risks were taken.

Since I started actually reading the bible about three years ago I have found the similarities between the Pharisees and the Society to be amazing. Tell me your thoughts on this example or others you've come across.
(Acts 4:13-20) When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. “What are we going to do with these men?” they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it. But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.” Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I have had lingering questions since my teens, I am now 31.I haven't "reached out" since my early twenties and have been innactive most of that time as well. I gave it one last hoorah about a year ago (when I confessed and was reproved) but that quickly fizzled for a number of reasons. Until about six months ago I thought I was the only one that either had or bothered to ask questions about the truth. Ironically I learned TTATT when my wordly girlfriend (the most honest, loving and genuine person i've ever met) started asking me questions about my believes and showed me a website with 141 things jehovahs witnesses can't do. I expected it to be overblown opinions from people who were slighted in some way by the organization but to my surprise I couldn't disagree with most of what was said. I haven't looked back since.
