  Starting to believe in "new lite" .......

  i'm now fully convinced that the society provide new lite!

  well, at least the lite that is defined by miriam webster.

  they were right all along, just had the wrong spelling.. lite- 2: diminished or lacking in substance or seriousness <litenews>; specifically : being an innocuous or unthreatening version often used postpositively <it is film noir lite james greenberg> .

  Cost of new Kingdom Halls?

  i have been told that the cost to build a new kingdom hall is $500k +.

  i have a background in commercial construction and this seems pretty high to me, considering all the free labor.

  that is just the cost of the building, excluding the lot price.

  Movie about the Watchtower Society?

  i saw this movie at the theater when it came out in 2004. for some reason the other day i started thinking about it and the similarities between it and the watchtower.

  Becoming "unevenly yoked" ?

  i haven't been to a meeting in about a year, made up my mind about six months ago that jw's are just another religion and that its not for me.

  started dating a "worldly" girl 10 months ago and got engaged this past weekend.

  i'm having a hard time deciding who to invite to the wedding.

  i'm sure most of you who have spent any time in or around the org have noticed the emphasis placed on the need for an organization.

  i'm not sure if the emphasis has been increasing or if i am just more aware of it now, but the trust and faith that most witnesses place in "the organization" is shocking and scary at times.

  i was reading the account of the tower of babel a few days ago and noticed some similarities with the organization.

  The unholy trinity of judicial committees

  if judicial committees have jehovahs direction and holy spirit why must they be made up of three members?

  is the holy spirit not capable of communicating its wishes to just one person alone?

  or is it perhaps to give the appearance of fairness and justice.

  since i started actually reading the bible about three years ago i have found the similarities between the pharisees and the society to be amazing.

  tell me your thoughts on this example or others you've come across.

  (acts 4:13-20) when they saw the courage of peter and john and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with jesus.
