i know of a couple of elders that regularly went out in the ministry throughout the week.
no matter which street they were on, they always seemed to be near the same spot.

Sorry but I guess you weren't the only concerned elder - see, it couldn't have been you cause we used to go to Tim Horton's. BTW all elder chauffeurs believe they are perceived as "loving". Just thought you'd like to know that the pubs. saw right through you and played the service game, but smirked behind your loving backs.

Our study conductor had it down to a honed science. He would load his car full and assign another car driver to follow to a faraway territory. Then he would drive around the territory and choose drop-off points. He would then signal the other driver to come up beside his vehicle. They would discuss the drop-off points and finally come to a decision where the occupants of the other vehicle would begin. Then he would again circle the territory and drop off the other twosomes in his car. After that he and his partner would do a house or two. Then it was time to check on everyone. He would drive around slowly and ask everyone how they were making out. After making sure everyone was o.k. he would make his second round to announce coffee-time. A great boss, especially if you worked with him. After coffee hed make sure he got Sister Visits in his car and drove her around to her calls the remainder of the morning.

You really gotta stop pulling that trigger, you'll have no foot left. Erasing your original post and giving more detail isn't making you look any better. Just take the medicine like a man. Give your ex. a descent settlement. Keep in mind that, with the .7 million you made last year and the fact she had to put up with all your crap all those years, she certainly deserves a fair share of the pie. With all the attention and beautiful woman constantly surrounding you I cant see you having any problem getting on with your life. So stop complaining about losing control over your wife. Just dust off your sandals and move on.

Hey Mary, your description of your dad sounds just like mine. I used to think I was the only one with a dad like that but I guess there's plenty in the org. As soon as Holly was introduced I said to my wife "Thats it, if the T.V was on at the parents house you can be sure it was just turned off" Tattoos and nose ring = rebellion = liars; and we will not listen to anything such a person has to say. When CBC showed her smoking that really clinched it: She would never tell the truth. She must be disfellowshipped. No wonder the congregation knew she was lying about the step-dad.
I remember dad talking about a brother being arrested for robbery and murder some years back. He told us he knew the brother was innocent. I said if he was condemned, there must have been some proof. All he could say was "He was wrongfully convicted, he was innocent" ..... why?.... "He was a brother". The congregation never took any action.

Sounds like you're in a tough situation Confuz. Does your wife want to leave the JWs? Doesn't sound like it. Do you want to remain a JW? Doesn't look like it. Sometimes you have to close a chapter of your life and move on. Only you can decide, but i s this one of those times? If you decide it's time to get on with your life t he decision will be difficult, but once made, things usually get better.
A dear friend of mine was in a conflict situation with a woman he loved. He was miserable for a long time. Things just wouldn't get better. Finally he decided he had to chalk it up to experience and get on with his life. In his case, he now says he should have done it sooner.
does it bug you that there are notes about you stuck somewhere in a kingdom hall file cabinet?
i cant say that its kept me up at night, but it does bother me that there are notes from my judicial hearing (and a file) that i cant access but just about anyone with a little bit of nerve can.
anyway, i decided to call the po from the last congregation i was in and request that these notes be destroyed.
The sealed envelope is a joke. Anyone can tear open the envelope and read the contents. Even copy it. Next this anyone gets a new envelope, writes the person's name, date of the judicial committee and names of those on the judicial committee on it and seals it. And the envelope is back to being a confidential document. It's been done many times.

CBC showed a clip on the news last night. There's going to be at least one 'deepthroat' from the Canadian branch featured in silhouette. The WT admits to a list and says it is in a learning curve (guess they should be forgiven). Looks like this is going to be a great show folks. Listeners were encouraged to turn in for the full report on Wednesday.
i was always amazed by the certain elders that really got into giving heavy counsel, while, they themselves, needed to take their own advice.you know, the elder that always picked on the families that weren't perfect, and was the first to volunteer to give the local needs talk on how to bring up your kids.
meanwhile, the elder's own children were smoking and dating "unbelievers".
and i always smirked when the theocratic ministry school overseer gave tough counsel on timing and the use of word-whiskers and pronunciation, while always violating his own criticisms............what drove you crazy??
What used to kill me was the non-preparation for their meeting parts. The worst was the service meeting. One time an elder was called upon to give the next part and it was very clear he didn't even know he was next up. But he hopped up and gave his part anyway which turned out to be one of his better ones, believe it or not. I remember one time he wanted to do the same thing in the school but the SS told him he would just summarize the material and saved the cong. some grief. I also recall elders giving public talks and getting lost in their notes. Apparently they hadn't given the particular talk for quite some time, had neglected to look over the material, and were somewhat lost in the old outline. And we were stupid enough to sit through all this .
ok i know i haven't been around here much lately but i have been rather busy, kinda sorta.
well i have officially graduated from the florida college of natural health and have applied for my license to become an esthetician!!!!

i have never seen anyone so afraid of a book.
Just an idea - tell her there's supposed to be a show about JW's on "the Fifth Estate" CBC (Canada) next Wed. 9 o'clock if you get it in your neck of the woods. I think it's the type of show that will make some think.
But don't push too hard, maybe CofC is enough for now. If she begins to think you're trying to take her out she may decide she has to cut off the relationship.
