Thanks LTPF. I will keep you up to date when I end up selling them. The main reason for my post was to gauge how much interest people have in owning the original vs a PDF copy. I am the kind of person who likes to hold the real book in my hand. It is also easier to show people the original book rather than a PDF which we all know 'evil apostates' have manipulated! -

Hi All. I have a number of old books and am looking at selling a few. In particular I have all the old Yearbooks (from 1927?) and I was looking at selling the 1934 yearbook. My question is, With the arrival of PDF copies of most of the old publications do you think I have left my run too late to sell at a good price? Is there much of a market for old publications these days?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

zodiac and the bible
by Crazyguy ini have seen and read plenty of stuff on the net that implies many of the things in the bible are actually refuring to the zodiac.
one example would be that in the new testament the 'end of the world' phrphrase is actually a miss translation and it should say 'end of the age' and that this age that is being talked about is the change to the new sign of the zodiac which occurred at about 125 ad to the sign of picees.
has anyone done any extensive research on this theory that ma y things referred to in the bible is actually talking about the zodiac signs etc.

Gen 1:14 says that the stars would serve as signs for seasons and for days and years. So astrology is given the green light!

JW's and the axe
by why144000 inthe current state of the jws reminds me of the old joke about the father passing on an axe to his son.
he says son, this axe has been used in our family for 5 generations.
we have changed the handle a few times and twice had to put on a new blade but it is still the same axe your great grandfather used.. .

The number of changes that have occurred in the last 100 years makes todays religion a totally new animal.

Donation of blood fractions
by why144000 inthis may be the wrong area for this but here goes.. if you went to a bank and told them " i don't have an account with you, i never will have an account with you and i will tell people you are a terrible bank" then ask not for a loan from them, but a gift of a lot of money, how do you think they would respond?.
yet, witnesses now have the the ability to take blood fractions from the blood bank without ever contributing to the blood bank.
there is a process that the blood bank takes just the plasma from a donor to be used for fractions only.

There is a process that the blood bank takes just the plasma from a donor to be used for fractions only. If it is acceptable to accept fractions from plasma why is it not acceptable to donate your plasma for fractionalisation? Double standards.
Imagine the hospital saying "before we give you a lifesaving fraction you need to prove that you have contributed to the pool". If you are healthy I reccomend people think about donating to this great cause.

Anonymous Donation - Not!
by why144000 inmy mother in law (in her 80's) just told me that she had the elders around to pick up her 'donation' pledge.
it was 'suggested that $20 a month was the average amount pledged but she could pledge more or less.
so, rather than an anonymous amount they have a signed document stating the amount of her pledge.

When I told her that Russell said that money would never be solicited and that if Jehovah did not provide the organisation would close down. She said that she had to put the organisation first. I said she should put God first and the organisation second she fell back to the old line 'Jehovah appointed the organisation so we need to be obedient to it' At that point I stopped banging my head against a brick wall.

"Who else is preaching in twos? Who else is putting kingdom interests first? Who else rejects the trinity?"
by Island Man inthe next time a jw asks you the questions in the title, just tell them about the "two by twos" and the "cooneyites".. they have some similar beliefs as jws but are even more zealous in putting kingdom interests first, living far simpler and less materialistic lives than even zealous jws.
they reject the triniy as unscriptural.
they preach in twos.

How about the 'One by One Band' that was active in England in the early 1900's? Thomas Hogben wrote a book called 'My Witnesses" that taught that each person should be a 'Jehovahs Witness' and go door to door to convert people on an individual basis. I always wondered whether Judge Ratherflawed read the book and yars later stole the idea.
