To Loyal Witnesses: Please Listen!
by metatron inif you are a loyal, zealous witness, please listen to me.. i'm going to tell you straight from my heart, right out of.
my hard-won personal experience, how to avoid unhappiness.. here it is:.
don't bet on games you can't win.. let me illustrate.

Metatron,
Good advice!
A quite a number of the young people that were in my congregation didn’t even bother finishing high school. All three kids of the elder that was studying with me quit high school to “advance their spirituality.” The elder encouraged me strongly not attend college after high school. Thank God my parents were strong believers in education. As “strong” as they were “in the truth”; they never underestimated the value of education.
More power to you all..

new, nowhere to turn, ashamed & afraid
by azzazel inhullo everybody i'm new here, even though i've been lurking now for several months.. i have to say how afraid i am to post, afraid and ashamed but i feel if i dont tell my story, i honestly dont know what may happen to me or my children if they lose me, right now i feel like i've got nowhere left to turn and have my doubts about this place as well.. i know my story will shock you but i cant keep it in any longer.
i am recently disfellowshipped for immorality, the subject of a kingdom hall witch -hunt and subsequent congregational humiliation, .
during the process of the judicial committee meetings and proceedings no consideration was given to my real human circumstances nor to the spirit of survival nor human nature nor that of a mother seeking to protect her children from lack of basic fundamentals such as food, shelter and clothing.

Many people here tried to be sensitive to your current state of mind -
very commendable. I, like you, have been lurking here for quite long
time before deciding to join. Most of the people that you decided to
put them on a black list (such as mommy & farkel ) are the very
people that were catalyst to me joining the DB.
Many people left the organization because they were not allowed to
express their PERSONAL view on things. Now that they do, you label. A
label that you are not willing to wear. Yes, sympathy has it’s
limit. I am sorry the situation that you are in. But at the end of
the day, you are responsible for your life. A replay for your plea
for support is a privilege, not a right. So please stop belittling
their sympathy.
Hey ianao
I agree.

I wouldn’t rattle their cages, unless you are ready to loose family and friends. I know that you feel angry right now, but rarely is a smart decision made based on anger. I am in the same boat as yourself. I play along to save my family and friends. Some people might say that you need to be true to yourself. If a terrorist asks people of certain race to stand up, would you stand up just to be true to yourself. Don’t let them highjack you and throw you off board. The bottom line, there is always tomorrow to make your point when emotions are not ruling. The elders will use emotional outbursts to black mail you.
My thought...first draft.

Education =Looser Ignorance=Winner
by WhyNow2000 ini attended college during late 80's and early 90's when university was a taboo, bad karma, unchristian, bad example...how could you do that.
i endured myriads of encouragements to lure me away from materialism.
when i moved to another congregation, i learned to downplay my full fledged student status and in silence i finished my school.. how many of you went to universities when you were an active jw?

How many of you went to Universities when you were an active JW? How did you handle the harassment? If you decided to return to school after your left (inactivated yourself) JW, did having been a JW has any influence in deciding the major to go into?I f this topic has been discussed before, forgive me......after all I am a newbie.
