Just like the Westboro Baptist Church....they too, celebrate tragedy.

Disfellowshipped for PARTAKING
by irondork ini wonder if anyone has ever been disfellowshipped just for partaking.
of course they would eventually tag it as apostacy, but the real reason would stand - and could get the attention of local media.. .
the newsies tend to shy away from doctrinal entanglements, but the idea of a "christian" church disfellowshipping one of their own for taking the sacrament - surely that would raise someones eyebrow.

There was one brother I who all of a sudden partook. Big shocker in the hall as you can imagine. He was announced as DF'd a few weeks later.
I don't think however, it was for partaking. Looking back, knowing what I know now, my guess (just a guess mind you) is he found out the thruth about "the truth". It was the early '80s, when the WT took Jesus away and the great purge that followed. -

One thing she said in an interview I've never forgotten, I just thought it was cute. She was hired for Mickey Mouse Club, and she was talking to Walt about changing her name. She was so worried it was not american enough, that it was too hard to say, and no one would be able to pronounce it. Walt smiled, reassured her, not to worry, everyone will know your name.
He was right.

Did reading Jwfacts help you? Please take a moment to say thanks..
by The Quiet One init seems as though so many of the stories of people who are now mentally free that i read on here involved reading jwfacts.com at some point along the way.. he basically saved my sanity (questionable, i know!
), and was never as sensational and garish as other sites which immediately scared me away.
why not take a minute out of your day to say thanks for any difference that jwfacts made to your life, and tell us what it was that helped you?...

When I first started waking up, I was still afraid of the big bad apostate sites. jwfacts was helpful, because it was facts...It was a jumping off site for me, I could take stuff from there and I could then research myself.

Wow, cold hearted "therapist".
"I've escaped the burning building, but that does not free me of the obligation of trying to save the others." That's how I feel. I have moved on, part of my "moving on" is being able to help others. If I was wasting my time, that might be another story....but people are waking up. I know for a fact, I am not wasting my time trying to help others.
I know for a fact, that I'm not the only one who is not wasting their time trying to help others. -

By my count there are 79 contradictions in Genesis alone!
by srd injust posted the last 2, which once again highlight the fact that later writers, compelled by differing historical circumstances, rewrote the "historical" narratives that they themselves inherited.
an even later editor then stitched together these two narratives to form the bible as it now stands.. thursday, we now move on to the book of exodus!
