TMS, what you say is 100% true for the R&F. but i think you underestimate the WT control over the flock. no sacrifice is really needed to appease the "true JW". just another one to write off.

Justice for the Governing Body
by TMS inthe recent "uncovering" of the watchtower's complicity with the united nations calls for prompt phinehas-like action to "keep jehovah's organization clean".
an investigative committee should be formed to determine "who knew and when did they know it?
" a judicial hearing should follow for those governing body members who "signed on" to this impure alliance.. the current governing body of jehovah's witnesses should resign immediately as they are no longer "examples to the flock"(1 pet.

Why I will NEVER become a Jehovahs Witness
by kevin221 inbecause they are insane.
mabey not all of them, but the one's i've been exposed to so far have some serious mental problems.
and for the record i'm not talking about their religious beliefs, i'm basing my opinion on direct actions taken by the ones that i have had personal experience with.. thought some of you might be interested in the things that have been going on with me and jon's family.

kevin hi,
i'm sorry to hear about your trouble. self-rightious hateful bigots can be brought down even if thay think thay are above the laws of man. when it's all said and done you will be whole and jon's dad will still be a broken hateful man. i wish you well. -

[quot]Surely we could distribute more than 40,000,000 of Srila Prabhupada's books and magazines a month if we actually made that our main business? I am convinced we can do it... And it will change the world...
oh my god, not another one
gently there came a tapping, rapping at my chamber boor. only this and nothing more[/quote]

Help!! I am extremely confused.
by Leander ini'm at a definite crossroad in my life right now and i don't know which direction to turn.. for my entire life i've been taught to believe in one thing but now i'm seeing things that i never knew where there before.
i find it very disturbing that there has been so many predictions the wts has made in the past that failed to come true.
also the bouncing back and forth on certain doctrines make me question my beliefs.. but on the other hand i can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline.

: Did the spirit directed apostles also similarly suffer from premature expectations and disappointments? Before you answer that, read the last chapter of the gospel of John.
you know. what prenature expectations are you on about?maybe what you might ask is: did the apostles also similarly give dates, to there folcks, that came and went without incident?
did the early christian writers teach the WT docterine? it's not like you can't read there works and see. -

has any other religion made as many predictions as the WTS? Or has any other religion made predictions at all?
many do or did.
the whip and the carrot
one use cults make of predictions is to focus or make more tangible the end time or the "whip". this if it appears to be right around the corner is a great tool to control. the "carrot" is ever lasting life, but only if you are in good stading ofcourse. -

This is not to say that I doubt any of the replies that were made here but why do the majority of the people who are associated with JW's have such a hard time shaking the feeling that they are doing something wrong by leaving the organization?
hi,
NameWithheld, had it dead on. you might look up "mind comtrol" or "conditioning techniques" or "group hyponosis techniques" (most commonly used to help people stop smoking. the WT uses them in the halls at the begining of talks when the R&F are asked to relax and imagine this or that) or "cult programming" or you can look into "deprogramming".
just look and you will see. -

"But on the other hand I can't ignore things like the fact the organization is growing while other religions are on the decline. JW's have learned many things about the bible that other religions don't know. Also their seems to be a certain unity and cohesiveness within the organization. The preaching work is done all over the world by witnesses."
hi lender,
you are finding out how untrue the WT is but you have more to learn. the org. is NOT growing while other religions are on the decline. many religions are growing much faster then the WT cult.JW have ben taught many things about the bible that others KNOW to be untrue. if you can be specific as to what the WT knows that others don't i can point you to alternative understanding that will make more since.
"unity" totalitarian cults are like that.
look into the bible students- jehovahs true witness-jesus's witnessThe preaching work is done all over the world by witnesses.
so what? every inch of the earth has a cathlick biship.
the Mormon's will send a 19 year old elder to your door.
the Baptists come a calling.
the legion of Mary might even come by.the WT know if thay say somthing long and loud enough the R&F will buy in to it. after all what choice do thay have.

How Does One Find Another Religion
by pettygrudger inthis is probably a strange question, but how do you "pick" something else to study?
i'm having a hard time just picking up the bible & reading it - but i'm terrified of picking up any "study material" from other organized religions to help.
which bible do i use?

Is there another bible, other than the NWT by the JW's that comes from actual scrolls?
well, the NWT doesn't come from actual scrolls. the NRSV is a bible accepted by all major christian religions.
if you just want to here another far more scholarly and complete interpretation of the bible and to understand the frist christians here are a couple of links. you now have many predigudges aganst all other christian beliefs, beat into you buy "JOKE" bashing and actual repitious tichings in the hall. i challenege you to put away your hate and look for your self. beware teachers of hate. early christian writers are available on the web and in the library. on the net as you know you are anonymous. i found the bible to be a catholic book from cover to cover. every challenge every question has it's anser.http://www.bibleontheweb.com/bible.asp
