  Does Watchtower Society monitor this board?

  i've seen it mentioned many times in many threads: "the society monitors jwd, don't post anything you don't want them to know etc.

  i have even made that point myself in the past.. my question is this: does the wtbts monitor this discussion board?.

  or have we all been propagating our own xjw urban myth?.

  As long as something stays on this "apostate" board, they have no need to respond (as they did with the UN fiasco) because no good 'hovah believes us apostates anyways.

  That's untrue, if the WT had denied being in the UN and kept there NGO membership. the R&F JW could look at the UN website and see the WT there. Even if they quit the UN and said they never were part of the UN it's still a matter of public record and without a UN cover-up, undeniable. Damage control sometimes makes the spin doctors chose the lesser of two evils. I don't think they could have done any thing ales. it might be that you underestimate the number of lurkers there are at JWD.

  my girlfriend is cheating on me! what should i do?

  hello everyone, i'm new to this site.

  so i dont really know all the computer talk (i just learned jh) so if u can please type the word out i would be very grateful.

  so here is my question...... i have a girlfriend we will make 1 year in oct. but i just found out that she has been cheating on me for 3 weeks.

  Yes, dude I've been there, I've felt the pain in my gut like a clenching fist the broken hart that would never mend. I've herd the half truths and the lies. I've closed my eyes to what was, so I could see the love of my dreams.

  I know she told you she didn't cheat and you want that to be the truth, but if your friend is like my friends are he wouldn't lie about it, he would be looking out for your welfare.
  In the end I think you will need to let her go. I hope you can, the pain fades harts mend and you don't need to except lies or half truths in your life. this could help you to find out who you really are and what you can live with and without. Good luck, I hope I'm wrong.

  the heavy-handed tactics of the leaders of the watchtower society have begun to bear rotten fruit.

  i suspect that it is just a matter of time before the need arises to coin some phrase to describe disfellowshipped or disassociated jehovah's witnesses who bomb conventions, shoot up kingdom halls or even attack bethel facilities.. leaders of the wts (and local elders) should stop and think about the lessons to be learned from columbine high school, the postal service (i.e.

  Any violence against the WT would only serve there own ends. You know as well as I the spin doctors would play the persecuted saints suffering at the hand of Satan for the glory of Jehovah. New names to be added to the 144,000 heavenly kings, amen. I think you might even find one or two secretly hopping to be martyred in these end times. Hummmmm

  Who was freed from the WT by violence? When has hating or attacking a people ever opened there minds?

  Who was not freed from the WT by love? Is it not accepting the love and support of others that gives us the strength we need?

  Denying love is the WT's biggest weapon, by the simple Christian act of loving the shunned, the WT becomes a paper lion.
  The WT will never be killed by violence but by love, if at all.

  Well the long wait is over, at least the WT righting staff found something they could print that would show the world how very scholarly thay are. Oh how truly deferent they are from satin's World. Thank Jehovah for such spiritual food at this most proper time.

  Pagan origins of Christanity?

  i'm in the middle of reading jesus and the lost goddess: the secret teachings of the original christians and after this i would like to read the jesus mysteries.. i happened to come upon this book by accident, but i was surprised to see just how much christanity has possibly borrowed from pagan religions (i knew that ot stories like the flood were borrowed, but figured the nt was made by some cultic jews).

  i also didn't realize that certain letters of paul may be forgeries, or that certain passages in the "genuine" letters could be allusions to pagan things.

  are there any other or books or websites on the topic that anyone could recommend?

  Christianity started with the founding of the church about 1,970 years ago.
  The worship of God started,for the Angeles before man, but for us in the time we call the garden of Eden or at very least, shortly after that time.

  It seems funny to me that Christians are shocked and upset when they read that God was worshiped when all religion was paging. It makes me wonder it they think they made God or that he was unknown before God named a man Israel.

  If there was an Adam, was he a Christian or Jew?
  If there was a God before there was a Jew, was he a pagan God?
  If there was a God of the beginning, was he worshipped before there was (for the lack of a better word) an un-pagon religion?
  Is it shocking to know there was real God before there was a mandate given to the Jews on how he was to be worshiped?

  When I read this kind of thing I can't help but think what is being said is guess what God was before we were! He didn't fall out of the sky, bible in hand, with the start of Christianity.

  i know some of you are not going to appreciate this and it probably won't start a movement that will affect a change but it will make me feel better to rant.. i find it very distracting to have moving graphics in the field of text, where we are supposed to be reading.

  perhaps many of you are used to listening to the radio while studying for a test, as i have often seen depicted on tv, presumably in humor.

  it may be humorous but it is not conducive to actual retention and meaningful meditation.

  Current witnesses and 'free speech'

  i'm new and have been browsing some of the posts and am surprised to find active witnesses here, pissing and moaning about this board and how other posters are mean to them, cursing at them, etc.

  well i'm just curious as to why an active member of the wtbts would want to fraternize with a whole lotta ex-jw's.

  i mean, that's why i came here, to find other exiles like myself.

  Some times witness come here to peek behind the curtain. They see what they would rather not see, that there house is built on sand. they kick and scream, wanting it so badly to be the truth they thought it was. After a time posts slowly change and you can watch the JW start to think and in the end free themselves from the WT, I've seen it more then a few times.

  It's also good to remember JWD is not for X-JWs, it is for discussing all things JW related, that would include active JWs.

  I understand and agree with you about JW being alike but I also understand that it's the programing that makes them alike. When the programing is broken, like it was with you, a wide verity of free people emerge.

  I can only assume that you are not talking about people like YOU_KNOW or Y2K they need medications, that has nothing to do with the WT.

  Talking to the dead

  as the borg hammered us into thinking that anyone who had contact with the dead were in fact speaking to the demons, however, now we know that a lot of their teachings are full of sh*t.. i lost my dad at the start of this year.

  a couple of months later i bump into a close friend who has known dad for many years.. this guy was stoked that he was getting married and mentioned how it was a shame dad wasn't around for the wedding.. yesterday i called in to see him and he told me something that had happened to him.. he was talking to his sister, who lives in another town, and she is active in some spiritual group.

  she said she had never met jack, my dad, but that she has been talking to him and that he had a message he wanted given to this friend, her brother.. dad wanted him to get out of this relationship fast.. he never took it seriously and carried on as usual.. not long after that, this fiancee of his smashed up his 4x4, was on a restricted drivers licence and spent the money he gave her for his hire purchases.. so, his truck is wrecked, he can't claim insurance to get it repaired, he still has to pay it off, a lot of his possessions have been repo-ed and that basically he is in sh*t street without a shovel.. do you think it was a message from my dad ??.

  I'm sorry for your loss. I don't think it was your dad or a demon or anything but the imagination of someone who wants very badly to speak to the dead.

  People looking for the lockness monster see it. People looking for spaceships find them. People hunting Bigfoot catch sight of it. the mind is a powerful thing it can give you what you think you need.
