Although the sun was shining for a little while today, it has become cloudy with smoke again. Big fires are raging in east county. Last I heard there was only 16% containment.
I'm still at home, but it doesn't look very hopeful outside.

Has Farkel moved back to San Diego?
Things are still bleak, but I haven't had to evacuate yet. This whole thing is a nightmare and it looks like it's far from over.

I'm still home, waiting to hear if I should evacuate. I called Kristina (also an exjw who used to post here) and she is ready to go, too. I was concerned because she has asthma, but is taking medication and is doing fine with her a/c on.
Thank you Chevy, April, Biker and everyone for your kind words. I haven't posted here for ages and I'm glad to be reminded of the love here. You mean a lot to me.
Hope I can stay home. I'm amazed that things haven't been worse for me considering what other people are going through.

The sky is orange-grey and I just heard on the news that the three fires surrounding me may become one huge fire. I'm getting ready to evacuate. I'm surprised that I still have electricity.
It looks like Dante's Inferno outside...the smoke is awful.

April!!! The fire is terrible! I thought I may have to evaculate last night, but not yet. I had to work Saturday night and the ashes were falling like a light snow. It is incredibly warm here, the Santa Ana winds are very strong sometimes and the sky is ominous grey. My house smells of smoke and I have to keep the a/c on, just to breathe comfortably.
We get fires, but this is the very worst I've been through. Will keep you posted. I live in the San Carlos area of San Diego, just southeast of Tierrasanta (many houses burned there),
It's been awhile since I posted, so I want to tell people who remember me hi and thank you for the birthday wishes! You guys are the best!

Exactly, April!!!! But, I didn't let that one (insecure) person spoil it. I am still crocheting like the wind (forgive the pun) and sending them (Elsewhere's got sent today).
It's hard to include mates and family if you don't know if the person you're sending a card to has either. Oh well. I say, send, send, send!!!

April, it's sad that someone would take something so innocent (and so very nice) and let their jealousy turn it into something other than how it was intended! I feel very sorry for this insecure person.
Your heart is in the right place. You say that you received nice e-mails... I say, continue on! Send those Valentine e-cards!!!! Don't let one person destroy the happiness you are getting and giving by doing this very sweet gesture!
