You know the mindset,Incest,Rape,Murder, they're weaknesses of the "flesh" you can say you're sorry and be forgivin. To openly disagree with doctrine, thats unforgivable, you're a disease a virus to the "body" to be destroyed, you see, you don't forgive a disease ;)

mindset is the same as hellfire doctrine...
by Richie injust an observation; when a witness decides to write the congregation that he or she does not want to be associated anymore for personal reasons, why is it that this person must be disfellowshipped?
or why is it that if someone makes an issue about a wrong in the congregation such as pedophilia, and this witness decides to officially warn the elders about this wrongdoing or suggest to contact the police, that this person must be disfellowshipped?.
get my drift???.

DISFELLOWSHIPPED RANSOM SACRIFICES
by Englishman ini posted yesterday regarding a df'd young lady who is attempting to get re-instated into her local congregation.. she doesn't believe a word that jw's teach.
when she is eventually re-instated, this lady will say goodbye to her relationship with her boyfriend, her dancing, even the clothes she wears will all have to go.
she will submit herself to the iron will of her elder father and attempt to enter her mothers tut-tut world of submissive sisterhood with its demure prissiness wrapped up between peter pan collar and ever longer skirts.. this lady is paying the ultimate price - her very self - to redeem her hostage family from its kidnappers.

I've seen this play out too many times , the lost sheep came back to the 99 but don't think the Shepherd found 'em and the other sheep are mistreating her.

Jesus' illustration of the Wheat & Weeds Ma...
by wokeup inthis question is addressed to those who still esteem and value gods' word.
those of us who were raised in the "trooth" we were taught that the "sons of the kingdom" pertained only to the "faithful slave".
in jesus' illustration of the end time harvest period, the angels separate the wheat from the weeds , distinguishing two distinct parties.

Thank you outinfree and room215 for your responses,I feel the same way basically. I probably didn't make my question clear, I was asking an open question for those who were and are practicing JW, did this illustration raise any questions to you personally. The WBTS's two class teaching didn't fit in this simple illstration Jesus gave to his disciples and yet so many loyal to the Society seem to not have any problem with it.. ............Allen

In Jesus' illustration of the End Time harvest period, the angels separate the Wheat from the Weeds , distinguishing TWO distinct parties. One being burned up and the other will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Never any mention of a 3rd party (Great Crowd). How did you rationalize the existence of the 'other sheep class" when you read this passage?..........Allen

Blanket Bomb Or Snipe?
by hillary_step ini wish to open a thread on a bit of a controversial issue so belt-on the self control!

Hi Hillary, I found this thread quite thought provoking. As A newcomer to this forum I've appreciated the sincerity and candor made by various ones. For years I viewed apostates thru rose colored glasses.Words such as venomous, gangrene, spiritual death was drilled into me regarding talking to or reading anything from former members . I woke one day and realized my own thoughts would be considered apostate thinking. Thinking and drawing my own conclusions for a change that is.I find this forum refreshing for the simple fact that verbalizing free thought in the org is short lived. They make sure of that...........Allen

Nathan, I did spend 7 years both part-time and fulltime in college while living in Silicon Valley.Got a lot of flack from the Elders for not putting "spiritual things" 1st.Was "marked" by some in the congregation for it. It came with a price. But working for minimum wage in one of the most expensive parts of CA in the 70's and early 80's was awful, especially when most of the elders had high paying jobs with nice homes and pools encouraging me not to be pursuing higher education.

Hi to all in the forum. I am new here and would like to briefly share how I arrived here. I was born and raised a witness.I'm in my 40's and married.I had some doubts as regards to some docrinal teachings and changes in the 80's. The '95 doctrinal shifts further caused me to do some soul searching. I researched the WT library going back to the Study in the Scriptures even and gained valuable insight the the real truth.Knowing all to well the repurcussions to openly question doctrine I stepped down as MS so I could sleep at night.I told the elders I was taught that everything outside the Society eminated from the Devil but the literature often referred to references from "Babylon the Great" to give weight to the arguement yet rarely provided appendices or accurate references to substanciate the validity of the information. It was difficult and nearly impossible to "make sure of all things". I'm concidered in good standing but do not participate. I accompany my wife who knows how I feel but refuses to read or talk about my observations for she doesn't want to be cut off from her family which comprise of a 4th of the congregation.I have over the past year or two drawn my own conclusions on doctrinal matters but I am not here to preach. I'm here to lend a hearing ear to others as well as recieve insight and support from others.I am a free thinker which is not appreciated in the org.My 7 years of college helped see to that. Unfortunately, it hasn't improved my typing skills......Respectfully, Allen
