Daniel 12:2 alludes to a resurrection but not specific on locality. I find it sad the watchtower leadership wants to 'spiritualize' this passage since it goes against watchtower doctine. "in the Bible, resurrection sometimes has a spiritual significance...a spiritual revival of Gods annointed servants in the time of the end...in 1919 they returned to life in a spiritual sense".

Has the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" correctly foretold anything?
by donny inone of the issues that really helped me open my eyes to the fallacy of the claims of the "faithful and discreet slave" class is that they have not been right on anything they said would happen in the future.
every instance of "new light" is simply a hindsight adjustment and their attempt to allign the beliefs with what actually is happening or already occurred.
when you examine all of their dates, and what was supposed to happen on them, as well as the generation of 1914 and the date of the sealing of the annointed, etc, etc, can you think of anything the f&ds has accurately foretold by means of "jehovahs" spirit.. don.

Name Things Witnesses Do or Believe That Is Not "Scriptural"
by minimus injehovah's witnesses pride themselves in believing that they alone are picked by god, jehovah god, specifically.
they say they are not part of the world and are unlike the false religions that are mired in their traditions.
i say they are liars!

Insinuated that more than the 11 apostles were present on the mount of olives at Matt.28:16-19
Pay no heed to Acts 1:8, Gal.1:8, or Luke 21:8
Teach 'bible studies' that they do not belong to christ, only can be a companion of someone who thinks they do.
That Jesus has/needs a multimillion dollar publishing empire for sheeple to put their faith and allegiance.
What scripture states that 'companions' of the watchtower leadership have a 'commission'.
Secret elder tribunals
The bible and holy spirit cannot fully equip or direct a christian.
Organizational idolatry.
Giving preselected answers to preselected questions to preselected topics at preselected locations at preselected times reflects spiritual insight and godly wisdom in the sight of men.
Shaving Jesus for more years than he ever lived.
Claiming a Spiritual paradise that even the Apostles dared not claim.
Redefining the word loaded to 'pure' by placing Zeph.3:9 before verse 8 is fulfilled.
'Millions now living will never die'.
Unbaptized publishers.
Acts 2:38,39 no longer apply to christians.
Memorizing a laundry list of questions to qualify for a baptism of dedication.
They have already been judged.

Aude is right, the hired help is all you'll find, maybe.
I remember working in Atherton,CA in the 60's and came upon Shirely Temple Blacks' estate. Couldn't get past the gated driveway.
You have better chances bumping into someone famous at the airport or a resturant.

The name "Jehovah's Witnesses" is NOT scriptural!
by Nathan Natas init is not infrequently that jehovah's witnesses make the statement that the name of their organization is "scriptural.
tony wills, in his book "a people for his name" makes an interesting point about the misrepresentation of that name as "scriptural" and the appropriateness of this name-change by the impostor "bible scholar" rutherford -.
[rutherford] showed the need of a new name by such texts as the following:.

As I recall Isaiah 43:10 applied to a defunct religion, a nation rejected by God, guilty of Idolatry, man made rules and put their faith in their institutions and puffed up with their accumulated knowledge.
Replaced by something called Christianity.
Christians are under Jesus' admonition found at Acts 4:11 to be HIS witnesses to the most distant part of the earth.
Self evident in retrospect unfortunately unpercieved as a youth immersed in the rhetoric from infancy.

Proof that WT literature is not needed...
by The Last Nephilim ini have recently come to fully appreciate what is stated at 2timothy 3:16, 17 (nwt).
it clearly declares that nothing is needed outside of the bible in order for a person be be "fully competent" and "completely equipped" for "every good work".
how can anyone, especially the wts, claim that the bible alone is not enough after reading these scriptures?

The WTBS has always functioned on the assumption that God's Word and Spirit are somehow inadequate and must be augmented with their spin using perhaps, most likely, undoubtly, surely, possibly in explaining bible events.
I have always felt the Bible (2 Tim 3:16,17) which fully equips and the Spirit (John 16:13) which is said to lead us into all truth are also undermined by stating conjecture (revealed truths) as factual especially when making blanket statements, unverifiable such as Jesus 1914 arrival and their 1918 'appointment' as 2 examples.
The leaders bear a heavier judgment in their self assumptions and demanding strict adherence and loyality at all costs for the appearance of an all knowing entity basking in 'divine favor' in a 'spiritual paradise'. This illusion has and continues quite addictive to many.

Question about the memorial
by Amyfa inas i am not a jw and never going to be one or study with one, can someone tell me what scripture they use to make everyone reject jesus.
it just feels to me like something satanic worshippers would do, not something christians would do.
it just seems so wrong to me

For years the society applied this passage to those that claim to be going to heaven. Then in the 1986 Watchtower 2/15 pg. 30-31 Conseqently 'added research' revealed that Jesus spoke those words a year before the last supper.
'Logically', none hearing those words had any idea about an 'annual' celebration or literal symbols introduced at the passover a year later.
Thus it would have a broader application and include the 'great crowd' in a symbolic way but in a different symbolic way in reference to the last supper.
Make sense?

Is grace enough?
by Kphoto inhi again, debating again with my favorite jw and the issue of grace became a firestorm.
my contention is that epesians 2:8-9 says it all but i get the arguement that "that's too easy" and shouldn't i have to do something.
my point is if i earn it it's not grace.

And here I thought the plan of salvation was to dedicate oneself to Jehovah(insert scripture) as a pre-requisite to baptism(Acts 2:38), 'symbolize it' by water baptism and spend the rest of your life trying to 'live up' to that dedication.(following orders)
That way,by guilt or association (grabbing a skirt) we might be his 'friend'. All because we were told we didn't have Christ's spirit, can't be his brother nor a child of God because we were born too late.
It's all spelled out clearly in the bible.

All hail the "organisation"
by jefferywhat inthis is just a rant from me today, something that i have noticed all my life, but now as an adult bugs me more.
the org has become a quasi god, it has its own "approval" which was cemented in 1918 and as a jw you cant question it at any level, you can question individuals( casue they are imperfect) but the org is perfect, it is theocratic therefore ruled direct by jesus, any mistakes are our fault.
the "society" is beyond reproach in the eyes of so many.

I agree with J.O. the ritualistic atmosphere where pre-selected answers to pre-selected questions cultivate the mindset that whatever is spoken from the stage
is revered as sacred. I can't picture the apostles thanking God in their prayers for the 'provisions' from the 'slave'. I've even heard governing body members on stage
refer to the FS as if they weren't even part of it. Talk about strange. I can't visualize Jesus saying to himself " I'll create a billion dollar publishing corporation for
people to join and put their trust in for salvation". The arrangement to me seems so far removed from the first century example found in the NT.
