she passed the interviews and was invited to the 4-week training.
thing is, they say that 75% of those who are accepted into training for it wash out.

They have started to shun my JW wife!
by jwfacts inmy poor wife has been quite stressed knowing what to do with her life.
she has never been intellectually interested enough to study whether the wts is the truth, just went because it seemed the best way of life and her family and friends are in it.
when i stopped going she did not know what to do wanting to keep both me and the congregation happy, and becamed fairly irregular at meetings and field service.

Sooo....anybody know of any IT jobs in Oregon? (Or...anywhere?)
by Xander ini've been working at a telephony company doing primarily sql database stuff for the past 7 years, and the last year of that telecommuting from oregon (they didn't want to lose such a valued employee, so made arrangements for that).
unfortunately, our ceo died recently (within the past 6 weeks), the resulting turmoil with investors and customers is causing the company to go out of business.
should last out the end of the month, but, then, that's it.

JW College Girl Getting DF'd For Going To Mormons For Love
by minimus inthe new talk in the hall per my mom is that a twenty something year old sister is getting disfellowshipped because she's been attending the mormon church because she found a nice mormon boy that is interested in her.
since there are no jw eligible men around, she has gone over to the other side and will pay for it with the announcement soon.
word is---she just "needs" to get married.

Which avatars ''appeal'' to you (credit to jt stumbler)

elsewhere (no idea why, gimme a clue), ezekiel3 (says a lot), euphemism (loved the marx bros) and googlemagoogle (so classical) spring to mind, oh, ip_sec's last avatar (the red pyramid) - want to revert back ip_sec?
oh, and stillajwexelder - after reading your posting on jt stumbler's thread i realise i previously had the wrong impression - lol.

Special announcment 20 march fore JW ?
by happy man insomeone informed me today that in two months time there will be a "special announcement" to all congregations.
everyone must be present at the kingdom hall for it.
my elders already know what it is, but won't tell me.

BEST BOARDGAME EVER!!!! (Awesome "family game" present for LotR fans)
by Xander inhow's this for "behind the times", i'm recommending a game from 2000!.
anyway, lord of the rings is basically the best boardgame ever.. the cool 'gimmick' about it is that it is *cooperative* - all the players playing together are on the same side (the hobbits, actually).
if you lose, everyone loses.
