they are making a sequel series..the plot revolves around a woman who takes sam's place..sam gets to go home.
it will begin with a 2 hour intro movie.
i am personally peeing my pants in anticipation.
DAMN - doing some research and here I find it WAS 'Knight Rider 2000' that was awful. I have never seen 'Knight Rider 2010', but it sounds terrible.
I mean, the tagline for KR2K:
"He can see through walls. Feel the heat in your veins. Stop you cold in your tracks. And take you beyond your wildest dreams."
Does that even SOUND like 'Knight Rider'!?!?
(I think I've successfully hijacked this thread...)

Sorry, that was 'Knight Rider 2010' not 2K.
And IIRC, it was almost as bad as 'Team Knight Rider'.
Here's to licenses that SHOULD NOT be resurrected!

Huh?
Isn't he commanding the Enterprise right now?
Gosh, I hope it isn't as awful as that 'Knight Rider 2000' or something...

No, that's certainly true now.
THAT'S THE POINT.
How many US citizens even KNOW there is a space station in orbit?
You have any idea? It's simply amazing the level of disinterest in space over here.
If their 'target demographic' can whine loudly enough to get their parents to tune to the live broadcast (and you know it will be live) from the ISS....
Well, it may respark some interest again. Of course, probably in a BAD way. Suddenly EVERYONE will be the expert on the space station, and why it is interesting, and what it means for us, and....*shudders*
Maybe we'd better keep him on the ground....
bbcamerica has a page where one can submit requests for specific programs:______.
http://www.bbcamerica.com/about/contactus_email.jsp.
i have no clue whether this is intended for "other programs" aired by "other bbc affiliates", but it would seem to be worth 5 minutes for everyone to take the time to fill out a request that "suffer the little chidren" be aired on bbcamerica.
I dunno - it's not like they USUALLY air Panorama or anything. In fact, we really don't get much in the way of BBC news programs at all on the station. I mean, heck, we're compressing how many stations of BBC onto one channel? Then, keep in mind, we are also catching up on how many decades of what would be considered 'reruns' (if they had aired before)? Then, to top it off, episodes of REALLY popular shows like 'Changing Rooms', 'Ground Force', 'AbFab', 'Monty Python', etc. just keep getting repeated over and over.
(PS.- Don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll probably start another one sometime soon - 'favorite BBCAmerica series'. Hmmm..dunno....'Coupling'? 'Monarch of the Glen'? Liked 'Glasgow Kiss', too....hmmmm.....)
it seems as if the one calling "herself" janh surivived my decidedly poorly planned attack yesterday evening, by countering my spell with a terrifyingly more powerful spell, one that involved (sadly, i have suffered dearly for mistaking the sex of my enemy) a bottle of omega 3-6-9 oil, some sand, and a large dog.. needless to say, i will spend the rest of july roaming the silent, lonely and dim lit halls of our local hospital with the elderly and infirmed in a wheelchair, and am now communicating to you all ala stephen hawking.
it smells of cancerous death here.. wounded, i slink back to my chambers.
janh is not the woman i thought he was.
??
omg, this is some of the funniest stuff i've read in ages.... flight log .
never let it be said that ground crews and engineers lack a sense of .
humor.
P: IFF inoperative.
That's on military planes only. I had seen this list circulated as an Air Force ground crew log before. (And Marine, and Navy, and....)
Civilian planes have a transponder to identify themselves to ground stations. IFF is used by the plane to interogate other planes for whether they are friend or foe - even the US F-16s and smaller do not have them.
the message said, in its entirety:

Oh, that doesn't even COMPARE. Here is a couple of emails (in their entirety) I've received from our Nevada client (regarding an immensely complicated telephony system and operator services platform):
MY GENERIC BUCKET IS F***ED
wtf is that?
NO WAY IS THIS REPORT CORRECT LOOK AND ADVISE
WHAT report? What's wrong with it?
(And yes, the caps are original - I think his key is stuck)
do witnesses teach that apostasy is an unforgivable sin?.
i was taught this by my parents.
but, i am wondering if this is a jw doctine.
The 'dub rule' for an 'unforgivable sin' in our area was:
"If you say something or act against against god's holy spirit (read: the org) and don't feel guilty or think you've committed a sin, then you've committed the 'unforgivable sin' since you've truly turned against god in your heart."
Which, by its very nature of ambiguity made for SUPER-DUPER paranoia.
Just think about that...
The unforgivable sin is the sin you don't think you committed. Suddenly, EVERY action comes up for scrutiny. You basically have to believe EVERY doubt is a 'sin' or you worry about committing 'the unforgivable sin'.
*shudder*
Mind control at its finest.

Used to be worried about THIS doctrine when I was a 'good little JW'. Yes, even an uberJW could sometimes feel pressure of the world and 'hate god'. Or, sometimes, just wish the org never existed. Or, not REALLY want to live in the paradise pictured by the society. Or, secretly hate a two faced elder. Or...
Boy, did I feel guilty.
"Did I just commit the unforgivable sin?"
"If I did...what's the point in going on?"
"How can a 'loving' god think that a specific 'sin' is 'unforgivable'? Is that really loving?"
"Is asking that question an unforgivable sin?"
Went through a LOT of that, off and on, for a LONG time.
