I've talked to quite a few HLC and PVT people about the blood issue and they pretty much agree that the subject as become so complex and confusing that rank and file members don't have a clue. Not their fault, it's just confusing and inconsistent.

larc I wouldn't say changed beyond recognition. Fundamental doctrines like trinity, soul, hell, etc. haven't changed.

Family dynamics and the Org.
by LDH ini have made a couple of remarks regarding family dynamics on other threads, but i thought it's be nice to start a new thread.... i'm no psychologist, but suffice it to say i see some similarities here.
(please add to/comment on these thoughts).

You can slice it any way you like lady. How convenient for you that you came from a "strong" JW family. That way you've got someone to blame. That's what you're really look for isn't it? Someone to blame. The path of the slopey shouldered is such an obvious one.

Who's to blame?
by ozziepost inwhen viv mouritz , former branch coordinator in australia, addressed the special meeting of sydney and surrounding area congregations at the superdome last weekend, he blamed the young witnesses who were leaving "the truth" for the drop in numbers in australia.. at the service meeting this week in one sydney congregation it was announced by a bethel elder that the elders have been told (as if they didn't know already!
) that 2,000 have left "the truth" in the past two years in australia.
this typical congregation of 120 publishers has lost 19 inactive since 1999.. the march 2001 issue of kingdom ministry (australian edition) gives the number of publishers for december as 58,426, pioneers 3,315 and 19 baptized.. in dec '98 there were 58,706 pubs, and in dec '99 there were 58,000.. with 1,600-1,800 being baptized each year, there is indeeed a 2,000 shortfall.. so, who's to blame?

The Organization has been very definite in the past that the "love cooling off" thing did not apply to JWs. Wonder if that's going to change?

You guys are out of touch. The use of recycled blood has been acceptable for years. Using a little sophistry, it's considered an extension of the circulatory system. )

So Moridin, I suppose there's some deep psychological significance to your name? A real servant of the Dark Lord are you?

Grunt your compendium is intellectually dishonest. You can prove whatever you like with one from column A - Z.

I just really get fed up with the:
I would have been a cheer leader, homecoming queen, quarterback, brain surgeon, Doctor of Origami, rich and famous, Olympic gold medal winner, found a cure for cancer, etc. etc. ad infinitum ad nauseum
EXCEPT I WAS RAISED BY THOSE DASTARDLY JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES!
Too many here have found themselves a life long crutch, a life long excuse, for everything that doesn't work in their lives. Get real, what you are is what you most likely would have been. People have overcome obstacles compared to which being a Witness is a fart in a whirlwind and gone on to be successful by any definition of the word. The eternal "woe is me" attitude gives me the hives. Wallow in it if you will, you are doing more harm to yourself than the organization ever could have.

Oh I get the point all right. Every wrong thing is the fault of the organization, that's what it all boils down to in every one of these discussions. I've never seens such a bunch of moaning, whining, hand wringers. Let me tell you a cold hard fact. If your parents would have been wonderful parents outside the organization then they would have been wonderful parents inside the organization.
I realize that you, like so many others, desperately want to lay all the ills of your life on a faceless organization. It's time to grow up and get on with your life.

It's real simple. When you're ready to move out and support yourself then you can do what you want. Thousands do, it's no big deal.
