Writings show faith, doubt of Mother Teresa

i thought this was an interesting article that showed even the most "saintly" people struggle with their belief in god.

i've always respected this woman and the work that she did.

some interesting stats: the missionaries of charity, which she started, feeds 500,000 families a year in calcutta alone, treats 90,000 leprosy patients annually and educates 20,000 children every year.

I always thought Mother Teresa was a very strong courageous woman...this shows she was even stronger that I thought. To do all she did and still have those feelings inside her...what a woman.

Even when I was a JW I had a hard time with the reasoning that people like this didn't deserve to live...people who gave their all to what they believed in and did so much good...how could a righetous god comdem them? Guess that is just another reason I am no longer a JW.

Sad though to think that with all the good she did, she still did not feel like she had done enough because of religion....

Pledge of Allegiance

I still feel ackward when they have the pledge in a public place or the national anthem...I don't mind standing but feel uncomfortable singing (could be because my voice sucks) or reciting the pledge.

We have spoken with our daughter regarding the pledge and let her make the decision whether or not she feels comfortable with it...what ever she decides to do now or in the future we will support her.

Our schools are out this Friday (most like in response to a heartfelt prayer by all JW kids, NOT lol)

finding friends outside the Borg - a Scary thought

has anyone else found that the teaching of the "outside world" being a "bad association" limits your involvement and ability to make new freinds?.

if so how have you overcome this and any suggestions to helping those suffering from these feelings?.

You know what this really isn't worth my time...I think the fact that OTHER PEOPLE besides myself found her words offensive speaks for itself.

So I will end my participation on this note bboy and bgurl...I am sorry if I offended either of you or anyone else in the forum or on this thread. That was not my intent. For my obsenity you are right bboy I should not have used it and it was done in anger. For this also I apologize. And you may both rest assured that you will NEVER again have to endure my crying or posting to either of you.

That's right bboy you have caught me...I am a closeminded anti-worldly nasty hateful warmongering bloodthirsty haughty ex JW with a hostile attitude oh and I have a superiority complex too....I want excluse rights to this site so I can boo hoo to my hearts content...can't believe I was busted like this...thought I covered my tracks so well...you are just WAY to insightful for me bboy...

Honestly though...all spiteful remarks aside (for a change)...you wanna know what really pissed me off about you and your "girlfriends" remarks? I am new here...have only been out of the JW's a short while after being in for most of my life...I tend to laugh at just about everything because I don't want to cry...I cover over my feelings with my humor and move on...but this thread is something that I cared about..something that mattered to me...I posted a few (very few thank God) of my real feelings on this matter and so when I read a post telling me to basically "Shut the Hell up and get on with your life" yes that made me angry...and I think I had a right to my anger...agree or don't agree with me bboy and co...I really (to quote Farkel if I may) don't give a rat's fuck! And I sure as HELL won't be putting my emotions out there anymore for you or anyone else like you to shit on again...

Thank everyone else for their helpful comments and suggestions...nice to know there are some decent people out there still...

Thank you for your post somebody...and don't worry I am not the kind of person to let ANYONE run me off.

I do worry about other people who aren't as thick-skinned as me though...I guess that is why it got to me so much. lol you can rag on me all you want and I am the kind who will just laugh it off, but there are a lot of people out there who would be hurt by those words...people who need to be heard too..everyone is at a different place in the healing process and WE as individuals don't know where that is for them, so instead of shutting them down when they feel the need to vent...let them vent. Does it really hurt anybody for them to do this?

Yes we do all need to move forward, but no one knows when it is time for you except YOU...

uuumm bboy I didn't come to an EX JW website to find non JW friends (good thing huh?)...I came here to chat and share experiences with EX JW people...lol I make my non JW friends a little closer to home.

hhhmmm you think I might have made a couple of new friends today in spite of my "hostile" attitude?
