Great Budda Belly now I am going to have nightmares! lol you dredged up the streetwork memories...horror of horrors! The looks you got and people trying to avoid meeting your eyes....lol this sister in Florida FORCED me to go down in front of one of the Water Parks in Orlando and pass out magazines...to tourists in swimsuits on their way in and out..I wanted the road to open up and SWALLOW me!

finding friends outside the Borg - a Scary thought
by lydia inhas anyone else found that the teaching of the "outside world" being a "bad association" limits your involvement and ability to make new freinds?.
if so how have you overcome this and any suggestions to helping those suffering from these feelings?.

Yes mam I still have problems making friends (course it could be because people just don't like me...naw that can't be it)..really though when I am with "worldly" (yes they are still that in my mind) people sometimes I feel like I am on the outside looking in...like I don't belong with them...weird huh?
I have only been out about 1 1/2 years so I am hoping this will eventually subside Maybe that is why I spend so much time on here...I feel more comfortable with people who share my backround and understand why I feel different...make sense?

Jon passed away this morning
by jonjonsimons inmy name is kevin and i am jon's partner.
jon gave me his password a few weeks ago and asked me to post to the board if something happened to him.
as some of you know jon had been undergoing cancer treatment since the end of july.

What about the children?
by sweetone2377 ini feel sorry for all jw's who get sucked in by the thinking "we will love you as long as you are good enough for jah.
" but, i feel worse for the children.
adults are able to decide for themselves, whether it's a religion that they want to persue.

You know Sweet it is the whole lifestyle that is tough for kids..not just after they grow up and figure out they don't want it...I mean growing up a JW totally SUCKS! It is hard enough being a kid...but being a kid that is so different...that is tough. Having to explain at 5 or 6 years old why you can't eat the birthday cake, salute the flag, draw a Turkey, or that you didn't get ANYTHING for christmas..you really gotta feel for these kids! These kids don't get to know what it really feels like JUST to be a KID! No Saturday morning cartoons for them...no they gotta dress up like little adults and go out and preach to people that don't want to hear them..
I am SO glad I got out while my daughter was young...today we are carving a Jack-O-Lantern!
lol sorry you got me on a tangent here...sore spot for me...especially because my family tries to use my daughter to make me feel guilty for not being a JW anymore...she is going to DIE because of me...lol HELL NO...she is going to LIVE because of me!
