  I live in a city where Reggie White played- there was still more coverage of the disaster overseas here.

  And yes, he did so much more than "do tricks with a ball" and it's pretty shallow of you, IMO, to minimize him to that without knowing anything about him beyond that he was a football player.

  Although I was not in their circle of friends, I knew Reggie and Sara. I worked with them on certain projects here and I can tell you that the man had a heart of gold-as does his wife. They did some wonderful things in Green Bay while he was here. And a lot of their work continues on now.

  Honoring his life after his passing in no way diminishes the effects of the tragedies overseas. Unless one thinks in black and white and expects others to as well.

  Read my initial post as a reminder not to forget the big picture.

  Thanks, but I think that we are all perfectly capable of prioritizing things in our lives on our own quite well.

  Hats Off in the House !!!

  call me crazy or what, but theres a recurring issue that i have regarding my son's wish to wear his hat in the house.

  i've never been certain regarding the reason men were to remove their hats when petitioning the almighty, the issue of headship and being respectful of it and the common custom in the west for a man to remove the hat upon entering one's home or church.

  even in the military during basic training, the issue with regard to hats was a predominating theme, to the degree that we were taught that at the instant your head was no longer covered by a building of some sort, your hat was to be immediately placed upon your head, but once open sky no longer covered your head and you walked into a building of any type, that hat was to be removed !!

  11,800 died in the Indonesian eathquake. Let's not forget that just because a ball player died on the same news day. And I mean no disrespect to Mr. White, but his reasons for notoriety are insignificant compared to the equivalent of 4.5 September 11's.

  I know, I know. Guess who's not a footbal fan.

  Gee Mungo- you can believe whatever you want about Reggie White- it's a free country. I would offer that you might have heeded your own counsel and that your time would have been more wisely spent thinking about those 11,800 who died in the Indonesian earthquake instead of taking that time to enter this thread only to throw some condescending instruction at those who feel differently about him.
