  It's Award Season....Let's have a JWD "Academy Awards"

  this is the time of year for the "awards" shows.

  we have witnessed seen the people's choice awards, the golden globe awards, and the academy award nominations were announced today.

  i think it is time for the jwd awards.. every nominee is a winner.

  ok i accept that it was bad to say a plane crash was too good for him, no excuse.. .

  for those of you who dont know what i'm on about it's regarding my post "the john denver issus, vote now" .

  having been subjected to 50 yrs of preducial abuse while i was a jw can have a pretty lasting effect towards some of the people who were responsible for dishing it out, you should have been at the concert it made me feel sick.

  I think it is time for the JWD awards.

  Every nominee is a winner.

  There will be no votes tabulated.

  This is your chance to say publicly, a "Tip of the Hat" to that poster who in the year 2004 made a difference in your life.

  They may have said something in a thread that made you go.... "hmmmm, that is so right on.

  It may be a poster who offered advice that was "so what you wanted to hear" and moved you forward in your convictions.

  It could be a poster who lived through a similar situation, and gave you the advice that comes from experience.

  Perhaps a poster sent you a PM that was just what you needed at the time, or simply some infromation you were requesting.

  The poster who you find the FUNNIEST here, and why?

  of course, different people enjoy different types of humour, so there will be a wide variety of responses, but if you could mention why you find that person funny, personally, it would be appreciated.. i would have to say that i have to pick two people.

  i enjoy having humour displayed in a tasteful manner, but with wit.

  a life-lesson taught with a laugh is about as good as it gets, imo, even if i am not capable of accomplishing that very well myself.

  Are Dubs warned about JWD at Meetings?

  i havn't been to a meeting in years.

  i was just wondering if this site is talked about @ meetings, and/or in the publicatons.

  i'm sure reproof or disfellowshipping would be instant if a dub was found looking into such "apostacy".

  I wish they would, we would be swamped with newbies.

  And as for elders coming here, if they want the latest news on special meeetings, announcements, upcoming conventions/ assemblies and new publication releases, JWD is the place to hear it first!
