On the other hand I learned more from reading 1 issue of the Readers Digest than all of the hundreds of Awake magazines.

The Readers Digest
by Country_Woman in.
today i suddenly saw the similarity of the wathtower / awake illustrations and the illustrations in the readers digest publications.. could have been made by the same artist, (or group of artists).
i am wondering, is the readers digest somehow connected to the watchtower ?.

Are you impressed by Pope John Paul II?
by GermanXJW inat pentecost, pope john paul ii could not speak when giving his traditional blessing.
many people are impressed by this pope because he does not resign.
they campare it to christ's sufferings.

I posted a thread like this a couple of years ago, when I thought the pope looke feeble then. He's like a Timex watch, just keeps on ticking somehow.

Are the Society planning a 'Pledge of Allegiance'? IT MAY BE TRUE!
by nicolaou ini've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.

The Armory Art Expo (for art lovers)
by Leolaia ina few weeks ago when i was in the big apple, i went to the world-famous annual armory art expo.
this is the only for-sale art exhibit i went to where you had to pay money to go to, and it cost $24 dollars or so.
but man, the stuff there blew my mind!

by Smoky ini received this email from a friend of a friend:.
'comments made by brother lett at morning worship today.. the comments were about the work we have of bearing witness of the truth.

((( Brooke hun))) Just go. Don't put yourself through this unnesessary stress.
You will be sitting there with eyes and ears wide open, and that might just be the final push you need.
And remember tomorrow you don't have to get up early and go out in FS.

Watchtower Society - The Thief of Time
by truthseeker incan't do more in jehovah's service?
start buying out time from non-essential activities.. how many times have we heard this phrase?.
ever wondered how much an average jw who preaches 10 hours a month, spends on jw activities in a year?.
-
xjw_b12
truthseeker. I reworked your numbers a bit, with a little less prep and personal study time, and only 10 minutes before and after meetings etc, but I agree with you that is still a lot of time of "cult" activity.
BTW I came up with 666 hours annually.
