  Resurrection of the men of Sodom and Gomorrah...the complete story

  sometime ago a friend of mine was very surprised when i did tell him about the many changes concerning the resurrection of the men from sodom and gomlorrah.

  he didn't want to accept just the statements i.e.

  yes/no + publication + date, so to make him a much happier person i did send him this:

  It make you wonder, if the writers on the WTS staff, ever get together and compare notes, so perhaps they could come up with some continuity.

  I guess that channel to god had a little static on it back in 1988 !

  In conscientiously responding to this question over the years, we have discussed Jesus’ words at Matthew 10:14, 15; 11:20-24; and Luke 10:13-15. A recent review of this suggests that these verses need not be taken as statements about the future for the people of Sodom/Gomorrah

  vac-il-late 1. to sway unsteadily. 2. to shift back and forth between two courses of action, or opinion.

  And interestingly enough in the dictionary, the very next word is................

  va-cu-i-ty 1. abscence of ideas or intelligence. 2. a statement revealing such abscence. 3. the state of being vacuous. 4. an empty space.

  Hmmmmm.

  The Letter from my Mom to my new wife.

  this is the letter my mother wrote to my wife.

  who does she think she is?dear leanne,thank you once more for the photos; we are building up quite a collection!i was so sorry to hear that the children are ill- this is a bad time of the year for sicknesses.

  you must be quite worried, especially if kevin has pneumonia, which can be very nasty.

  I've been on both sides of the fence, and your mom's explanation was lacking, big time. Did your wife get any sense of what she was trying to explain?

  How does baptism, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, prevent you from attending another religion, that likely baptizes their followers in the same manner?

  Perhpas your mother should be truthful to your wife and explain that the JW dedication questions have been altered to "pledge allegiance to God's spirit directed organization " , as the governing body likes to refer to themselves as.

  CraigSA Welcome to the board.

  Thanks to Double Edge for clearing up the Afrikaan remark. I don't think Craig's mom intended any racial slur there.

  He was very involved in a number of activities at school and got a lot of recognition for them. It was through his involvement with Debating, that Derrick and I became adjudicators in the Inter-Schools Debating Competition. We really enjoyed doing that, but had to stop when we moved up here. We don't have enough schools here, and then they are mostly Afrikaans! Did Craig tell you about the play he and I wrote for the Interhouse Play Festival? We wrote it, he produced and directed it, and it won First Prize. We wrote a sequel the next year and of course, won again. I think the year after that he was in Matric, and was not eligible to enter, but the fun and fame was great while it lasted!

  Craig. That is one helluva lot of extra curicular activity there. Something that is usually frowned on by the WTBTS. Yet your family and you were very involved in this, and she sounds quite proud of it.

  Can she really be that zealous of a jw, or does she play by the " 2 rules " book?

  example, my hubby (who was never a jw) is having a birthday today.

  now, i have no problem celebrating with him.

  LOL at Nathan the Executioner

  In 1995 the Awake Magazines " Mission Statement" in part read, "the Creator’s promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away."

  In November of 1995 it was changed to read in part, "the Creator’s promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things."

  Q. Seeing the Creator Jehovah God has changed his promise, does that make him a liar ?

  Installed a Wireless Network

  i just finished installing a ms wireless base station and remote wireless computer to the internet.

  my grandkids don't have an internet connection so they come over at my house and tie up my computer for hours, sometimes for 8 or more hours at a time.

  i have another computer in the other bedroom, so i hooked it up to my road runner connection.

  Undecided.

  Wireless is definately neater, but be sure you have all your security protocols turned on, and I would suggest you install a firewall, or else my friends and I will be sharing your home network with you !

  Will The Pope Just Die Already!

  in the newspaper today there was an article on pope john paul's visit to crotia.

  this is his 100th pilramage, in his 83rd year.

  in 2 weeks he is scheduled to go to bosnia, where i doubt he'll get as warm as a reception as he did in croatia.

  In the newspaper today there was an article on Pope John Paul's visit to Crotia. This is his 100th pilramage, in his 83rd year. In 2 weeks he is scheduled to go to Bosnia, where I doubt he'll get as warm as a reception as he did in Croatia. And in August he is scheduled to go to Mongolia !

  The man has Parkinson's disease, a bad hip and knee, slurs his words, and needs a special chair to stand him up.

  How can a man who is in such poor health, who does not seem to be in charge of his mental faculties, actually be in charge of the largest Christian religion in the world. How can he know what is going on? How can he actually make any decisions? Who then IS making the decisions ?

  And is there not a parallel between the Pope and the Governing Body? These men who are in their 80's and 90s....are they actually contributing on a day to day basis, to the governing of their respective religions?

  Who really is running the show ?

  leave it to me to be clearing out my old cd collection.

  lo and behold, i find a cd from 1994: elastica's cd (uk).. man, i don't know what the hell they're up to, but man i loved this chick-lead band.. of course, their hit: connection .

  ....still makes my nipples hard when i hear it.
