he claimed that "he that has seen me has seen the father" and that "i and the father are one".. in short, christians assert that jesus is almighty god from all eternity.. it therefore follows that jesus was the god who ordered the nation of israel to take slaves as inheritable possessions.

If I were a Christian I would also try to avoid discussing this aspect of Christianity, which is the point that Cofty is making here.

"But that was the Old Testament" is proffered over and over again out there in the real world. No, it's not said by professional Christian apologists (for the most part), but it is said over and over again my millions of nominal Christians. I've been hearing it for 40 years.

The point here is the separation of the Son from the Father and Yahweh in the minds of many Christians, not just the atrocities committed by Yahweh.

God does something that appears to be good, the Christian appreciates the goodness of God.

God does something that appears to be not good, the Christian doesn't understand the mind of God.

jesus wrote nothing.. stop and think about that.. if jesus were the authentic messiah, his ministry would not simply be local.. his instructions, his mission, the details of his teachings would be too precious to risk leaving it in the hands of "men unlettered (illiterate) and ordinary (blue-collar yokels).".

jesus, were he the one and only hope of mankind, would be absolutely certain to write down with great simplicity and specificity the exact owner's manual necessary to rescue mankind.. never happened!.

Yeah Cofty, quit quoting Moses. Yahweh would never endorse let alone tolerate genocide, misogyny, infanticide, polygamy, slavery, forced marriage/rape and so on. Yahweh was all about showing the love to everyone, everywhere.

Who wrote the story about Yahweh drowning innocent children during a worldwide flood? Moses! You're so busted Cofty, BIG TIME. As Sye Ten Bruggencate would say, "You're done, you're finished."

Next you'll be claiming that Yahweh endorsed abortion by high priests using dirt off the tabernacle floor mixed with water.

We had an MS in our congregation go apostate last year, I watched the whole thing play out. He's gone, I'm still chair warmer, feeling like an idiot. Too bad he's never really done much on any of the xJW forums, cause I've beena lookin for em.

I would never had guessed he was waking up until the very end when he started missing meetings.

i never thought i would admit it, but i don't.

i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.

as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.
