i am thinking about starting to take some courses, working toward my degree.

i would appreciate some feedback.. on the one hand, i have made a successful career for myself as a highly paid computer professional, working for a variety of prominent companies here in the usa over the last 12 years.

this, in spite of not going to college for reasons that you all understand.. to date, the only companies that cared that i did not have a degree, once i had a few years experience, were companies that worked with universities and higher education products.

It’s become quite obvious that people who post this type of drivel are not listening to what people have said a number of times on this and other forums in regard to the ridiculous assumption that the “star” had something to do with the planets etc. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT SUCH A THEORY COULD BE TRUE. The Biblical account says that the star came to a stop ABOVE where the young child was … and when they went into the HOUSE they saw the young child with Mary its mother. No conjunction of planets, no “double eclipse of Jupiter”, nor anything else having to do with the bodies which make up the solar system could conceivably come to a stop above the house in which Jesus lived so as to point out the exact house where he could be found. WHEN WILL THOSE WHO INSIST ON CONTINUING TO POST SUCH NONSENSE GET THAT THROUGH THEIR THICK SCULLS? OBVIOUSLY, THEY DON’T HAVE EARS TO HEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This so-called Star of Bethlehem was nothing more than a mysterious light that Satan himself produced in his attempt to kill the one that was destined to crush his head. The "star", or light, was merely a tool that Satan used in hopes of thwarting God's advancing purpose to restore heaven and earth to the original state they BOTH were in before Satan disturbed it all, hence the "new heaven" and "new earth" of which Revelation 21:1 speaks.

Molnar, deducing that Aries was the sign of the Jews, figured that ancient astrologers would have searched that constellation for a sign of a savior of the kingdom of Judea.

The “ancient astrologers” (aka “Magi”) weren’t trying to find “a savior”. They went into Jerusalem asking: “Where is the one born king of the Jews.”

It has been requested here by a couple of you that I reveal what I look like. (Now try not to salivate all over the place, Lilacs. And as for you Venice, just sob and sob some more until your handkerchief is totally wet! ) So I decided to alleviate all curiosity, because I have nothing to hide anyway. I don't want to reveal my name of course, not because I have anything to fear from my brothers at headquarters in New York, but for reasons that you probably know and can understand.

Anyway these links include pictures of me and most beautiful wife (taken in 1993, I think), as well as a couple of me while I was at my place of work (taken in 1994). The one of the Postal Emblem is a patch that I wore at the time of my retirement, which I am particularly proud of because I was pleased to do an honorable job for my employer. The only thing that I ask is that nobody re-post the actual pictures themselves onto this forum or any other place on the Internet, and I believe that I can trust that such won't be done. /Yadirf.

So then, God's promise was really directed at Animal lovers?
This seema strange considering the first thing God allowed Noah after the flood was to slaughter animals for food!

That's because Noah loved meat, silly! Not all animals are our "pets".

In fact God demanded the slaughter of millions of animals in his blood lust of sacrifices.

God never had a "blood lust" to begin with. But in terms of lives sacrificed the "millions of animals" sacrificed by the Israelites didn't compare to the one great sacrifice of God's first-born son. The purpose for the animal sacrifices was to impress upon the Israelites that they needed a redeemer. Of course that "redeemer" would be one that would come through the Israelite peoples.

That's no comparison to be making. What God did in bringing about the Flood, and the scenario that you've painted, are in no way comparable. The Flood ended the lives of those whom God knew to be deserving of being taken off the earthly scene, which WAS indeed an "act of wisdom". Your scenario on the other hand would end the lives of people indiscriminately.

Why are you so insistent upon dying at Armageddon, Toddy? Are you SURE that you even will? For example, do you even know what you will have to do in order to be marked for removal? Even if you do, how do you know how you will react to the pressure to conform to the demands of the World Government in that day? Do you know even NOW that you would place God in second place by elevating that government's authority above his? Are you aware that that's how one receives the "mark" in the first place? If you ALREADY know that you would thus commit idolatry then you will indeed pay for it with your life, but not necessarily your eternal life.

I bet that you think if you were an active JW right now, you might be afraid to be "cleansed" or "purged" out of the org. according to the scripture in Daniel 11:35, right?

Daniel 11:35 isn't about people themselves being purged out of the Organization, TR. It's about misimpressions of what the Bible teaches being rooted out and being replaced with what is accurate. Your memory of the Society's perception of that scripture and what I know it to mean are two different things. Try to keep them separated in our future discussions, TR. [8>]

I'm not saying that Daniel 11:35 has to be fulfilled within MY lifespan, but of course I hope that it will be though. You asked me, did you not, what prevents me from going back to the meetings? I answered by saying that certain refinements have to take place first, refinements referred to in THAT text. That text is obviously speaking of things of a major sort. The 1914 doctrine is of that rating, of course.
