Tried to start my own Socialist Club (that's right, I was at one time a dyed in the wool socialist. Before that I thought I was going to united all Native Americans and take their land back, by force if necessary (I was 11) I was a Socialist until about age 18 or 19 I guess.

15Geeky things you did when you were a kid
by DanTheMan inwe were a very geeky bunch of late 70's-early 80's suburban american white boys in my neighborhood where i grew up.. but my all time favorite one that makes me laugh every time i think about it, was how we rigged up parachutes to our bikes using twine and trash bags.
we would ride down the street as fast as we could, and then let the parachute out, which was tied to the end of our banana seat.
we thought we were cool funny car racers.. another one was inventing a previously unheard of cuss word that we could use around adults while winking at each other and giggling.

Oral Sex

ok, i'm watching the "o'reilly factor", they just aired the case of two hs students who engaged in oral sex on a bus in silverlakes maryland while several other students cheered them on and the bus driver did nothing.
the principal of the school system didn't inform the school board until after the local newspaper broke the story and he refuses to say how the students will be punished.

The driver knew and didn't report it to anyone, a kid told his parents, that's how this came out.
These kind of news stories IMO are just pointless voyeurism. It doesn't affect anyone other than those involved in the slightest.
It shows the state of moral decay in public schools, it's very much a proper news story. If the right thing had been done then I'd agree that this wasn't a news story, the thing is NOTHING has been done so it is a news story. Not only do I have to worry about my kids being exposed to Cross dressers as chaperones, but now they have to witness live sex acts on the school bus and no one gets punished. Something's wrong here. -

UK Gun Laws: Possession = 5 Years Imprisonment.

also, consideration is being given to outlawing replica firearms as well as air powered weapons.

I still say, lets enforce the laws we already have as oppossed to making new laws. Just to stir the pot a bit though. People who own guns are twice as likely to die from a gunshot than those who don't. Now, ya gotta figure that suicides are quickly figured into this, as are all gang shottings etc. Still, depending on what area of the country I live in, I will keep a gun in the house, though I don't at this time.

You're point about arrests for carrying guns. The law in the US provides for punishment of those carrying weapons who don't have a concealed weapons license. Enforce that law, and make it stricter.
To whomever asked...most of the gun laws in the US are state and local, though the feds have a number of gun laws too, mostly dealing with transfer of weapons etc.

he will be taking over a project and so they have to share info and whatever else they do in those meetings.

Let Dr Yeru Pipe in too. Don't ban handguns, rather, enforce the laws already on the books to the fullest extent. Make it a MANDATORY 20 years with no parole for the commision of ANY crime with a gun, loaded or not, real or not. Make it LIFE without parole if the firearm is discharged during the commission of the crime.
Same same on police chases. If they made it a mandatory 10 years in prison for running from the cops (vehicular) some of these punks who are being stopped for tickets who just want to mess around and lead the cops in a chase might think twice. OJ would have gotten at least some jail time for his crimes then. Sad fact is, most first time offenders don't see any prison time for first time offenses when running from the cops.

The whole "proving Satan a liar" or "Proving God has the right to rule over us" or proving man can't govern himself" are distinctly Society doctrines that most Christians dismiss. WHY evil is allowed to exist goes back to the free will issue we've discussed so often here.
Why bad things happen to good people remains a mystery. We can't understand it. Most people hate that answer, but in the end, it's the only true answer. Only God knows.
