Sad News...
by Sentinel inmy mom had her valve replacement and triple by-pass surgery today.
the operation lasted five hours, and they had just gotten her to her room at 8:00pm when she went into cardiac arrest.
the doctor tried everything, even opening up her chest and massaging her heart.

Thus that Army Slogan, "We do more before 9AM than most people do all day. By 9AM, my day is already 4 hours old...and I have about another 8 or 9 hours to go...sometimes more...I need...a pay raise amongst other things.

SAT,
This is from the Illinois State Museum.
http://www.museum.state.il.us/exhibits/ice_ages/when_ice_ages.html
Many glacial advances and retreats have occurred during the last billion years of Earth history. These glaciations are not randomly distributed in time.Instead, they are concentrated into four time intervals. Large, important glaciations occurred during the late Proterozoic (between about800 and 600 million years ago), during the Pennsylvanian and Permian (between about 350 and 250 million years ago), and the late Neogene toQuaternary (the last 4 million years). Somewhat less extensive glaciations occurred during parts of the Ordovician and Silurian (between about 460 and 430 million years ago).
During each of these periods, many glacial advances and retreatsoccurred. For example, over 20 glacial advances and retreats have occurred during the last 2 million years.
If "ice age" is used to refer to long, generally cool, intervals during which glaciers advance and retreat, we are still in one today. Our modern climate represents a very short, warm period between glacial advances.
I guess it depends on who you ask.
It seems like about 1000 years ago it started getting noticably cooler in Europe, so much so...and so quickly...that the monks went from Copying scriptures and writing flowery prose about the wonders of God to writing things like..."WOW, it's freakin COLD"

One more victory for the Christians and it sucks!!!
by Atilla ini saw that today the supreme court threw out the case with the atheist father arguing that the under god phrase in the pledge of allegiance was unconstitutional.
i guess the case was thrown out on a technicality because the daughter does not live with her father but with her christian mother thus making the father's case invalid.
i knew about this case but i did not realize that is was dubbie prez.

Just take the subject out of a national ceremony that should have nothing to do with religion in the first place.
You should ALWAYS read the constitution so narrowly.

The US Supreme Court has a bad habit of running from making a decision...this is one of those cases, and one wonders what the heck we're paying them for...regardless of how you feel about UNDER GOD, this was a horrible decision, because NOTHING was settled.
My feeling is that the one nation under God should be removed at once, f*ck the Christians for trying to force their religion upon everyone in this country.
My feeling is that one nation under God should be KEPT, joke the athiests for trying to force their religion upon everyone else in this country.
