by joelbear inon one of the you know threads you know refuted the oft quipped line here that jehovah will destroy 99.9% of humans at armageddon.
he said that in actuality the king of the north would be doing the destroying and that jehovah would be stopping it short before it annihilated all mankind.. this was news to me.. my understanding was.. 1. peace and security declared.
2. false religion destroyed.

It is very true that Jehovah examines our figurative heart. I don't want to die, this is true, but why do I want to live. I want to live because I enjoy serving Jehovah God, I want to see his name vindicated. I want to see a paradise earth with righteous and perfect humans. Maybe some join the Witnesses because they are scared, but many are moved when they learn about Jehovah through the Bible.

DIM: Being part of a religion, such as Jehovah's Witnesses, does not guarantee that you will be saved. This is on an individual basis, but to be saved we must be doing God's will as the Bible says. Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses helps me keep focus on doing God's will and I keep fed spiritually. I want to be with Jehovah's people and I want to see the vindication of his beautiful name.

How many perished in Noah's day because they did not listen to the warnings? How many perished in the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon because they did not listen? The real reason 99.9% of JWs stick with it despite the corruption, hypocrosy, etc. They are afraid of death.
Maybe this is what you were afraid of, but to say 99.9%, speaking for 6 million publishers is really outrageous. I'm sure some are afraid of death, but most Witnesses love Jehovah and serve him out of love. We appreciate the ransom sacrifice that Jehovah gave through his son, Jesus.YoYo just demonstrates his typical JW selfishness here, 'concentrating on his own salvation'.
O.K., so I shouldn't concentrate on my salvation and that of my family? That doesn't sound right or maybe you just didn't think before posting that comment.

Dim: I love the elders in my congregation and I appreciate their effort to help me through my illness. Why would you want me to argue with them over little things? Should I test their love? No, I am sure of their love and their genuine help. The UN thing is really no big deal. I'm sure Jehovah will give the correct guidance regarding it. Meanwhile I am concentrating in my own salvation.
