  this happy god destroyed thousands of persons in biblical times and is planning on killing billions more at some future "armageddon" date. He is jealous and vengeful.   This is true, puppylove. He did destroy, actually millions, in the past. But Jehovah never acts without proper warning. The people in Noahs day had 120 years to listen to Noah and join him. The people of Canaan had over 400 years to make changes. Well actually the Gabaonites (spelling?) did listen and took the necessary actions in order to gain salvation. Jehovah sent many prophets and messengers to the Israelites and begged them to stop their evilness before he allowed the Asyrians and then the Babylonians to conquer them.

  first of all id like to say hello to everyone on this website, and to thank and acknowledge each and every one of you for your individuality, personal experience, and in some cases, commitment to truth.. having read some of the heartfelt topics and posts here have served to be a great encouragement to me, more than some could imagine.

  my name is jason, and i am a recovering ex-jw.. i guess this would be an ideal time to tell my life story as an abbreviated version, so here goes.. i was "born into, or raised" in the organization.

  my grandfather was an elder for 45 years, and served as one of the very first jw in the south chicagoland suburbs.

  Reborn: I see nothing wrong with the questions the three elders asked you. I mean here is a young girl saying she was raped. What are the elders to do? Of course they have to investigate to see if it's true or not. Rape is a serious crime. And what questions where they going to ask? You're telling them that you slept with her in her bed. The next logical questions are the ones they asked. By the way you are reacting, it makes your story a bit fishy. I'm not saying your guilty, it just sounds fishy.

  Now you say that you DA'ed yourself. So what was the outcome of the judicial committee? If you were not disfellowshipped, the elders must have believed what you testified to.

  Commentary: Many people think of Almight God as severe, stern. Yet, the above text is a truth that you will find in his inspired Word. It accords with his being "the happy God" and with his placing our first parents in an earthly paradise. (1 Tim. 1:11; Gen. 2:7-9) When seeking insight into the future that God promises for his people, we should not be surprised to learn of conditions that will bring us lasting enjoyment. There are four instances where the Bible foretells "new heavens and a new earth." (Isa. 65:17) One of those reliable predictions is recorded at Revelation 21:1. The subsequest verses tell of the time when Almight God will drastically change earthly conditions for the better. He will wipe out tears of grief. No more will people die from old age, sickness, or accidents. Mourning, outcry, and pain will be gone. What a delightful prospect! w 4/15/00 1,2a

I've thought about the medical transcripts, but don't know who to contact. I am looking for something I can do with my computer. Unfortunately there are many scams out there and I'm paranoid. I think a good recommendation would be very valuable.

  Dinosaurs killed in flood?

  i was thrift store shopping as i always do on saturdays, and came across some older jw literature (as i often do at thrift stores) it was a very simple tract, i forgot the title, but it had a picture of the flood, and if you look closely you see a dinosaur drwoning in the flood.

  was this really the official position of the society, and is that still the case?

  you'd have to be astoundingly ignorant of science to beleive dinosaurs walked the earth with man only 6,000 years ago.. -dan

  That has always been a question of mine. I've looked through the literature but have not found an official statement saying that Dinosaurs died in the Flood. I know some animals disappeared like the Mamooth (spelling?), is that consider kind of like a dinosaur? It would be interesting to find out what really happened to them and how they disappeared. I know that the dating might be off, but how much are they off?
