Logical,
Not for certain, but he may be referring to I Corinthians 11:14
why does paul say it is a shame for a man to have long hair?didnt the nazarites who were most holy?and even the law says we must not cut our side locks or the extremity of our beards.the greek word translated long hair is only one word in the greek, and means neither long or hair.it is best translated "adorned hair", as in the interlinear translation.therefore it means a feminine or womanly style, and therefore "shameful".

this is sort of a take-off of the "what should the wt do" thread.. i need to get together a board of directors and elect a president and officers.
we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.
we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.
TR.
I would like to be Madam Librarian for our new "Let's Live Life to the Fullest" religion - I have much experience! I will properly catalog all literature: cartoons, jokes, Frenchy's stories, writings/prose of any other members, art work by children/adults, etc...I may need some guidance on musical matters, perhaps from you TR, Seven, Logical, Frenchy
and other musically gifted individuals.
And, a plus, this may be one way to raise much needed funds - but I don't want to peddle our literary collection from door-to-door!! No,no! We will find a better way to market our offerings.
(Fr. Amicus - friend, and marketing minister, do you have suggestions?)
I do also gleefully volunteer to be the catcher for our baseball team - this is a strategic location for viewing ahhh....warm buns - the distaff counterpoint to wet tee-shirts and swimwear, right sisters?
During meetings, I would like to assist our dear Mommy Wendy with child-care,
especially storytelling and creative arts/crafts. The parents will love us Mommy, we will wear the wee ones out and they will sleep really well!
I also volunteer to teach fellow sisters the fine points of blackjack - yes, indeed, we can generate funding in this manner.
Sincerely, submitted by Zazu
i am sure all here will be very interested in this new group.. http://www.bibledecoded.com/.

you will be amazed at what you read.
Gentlemen,
I'm LaUgHiNg SoOoOoOo hard - I dare not eat breakfast!!!!!
Scorpion, I don't think he is a Bible
Student (such as RR.) He is a disfellowshipped JW according to his own words. Did you see the accounts of his letters and visits to Brooklyn to see the GB. He even sent them a 400 page report of his research. Hmmmmmm,
sounds much like MDS to me.
o.k., this is a long story.
i was married to a jw, (i am a jw) he left me, and i begged him not to go, he went to where his x-wife lives for work, he says he spent the weekends at her place, but didn't sleep with her.
3 months later, he came back, and i let him stay, then he left me again.
Rollercoaster,
Thank you - the added details do help.
Well, you know the elders don't want you marrying an outsider! Personally, I'm with 'six of nine' - it's none of their business! Hey, they aren't living your life - alone, without the support of a spouse, loveless, etc.
Well, what it might come down to is this - marry your man, let them disfellowship you (I know it's hard), then grovel for a year and be reinstated. Shouldn't have to be this way, should it?
BTW, on this forum, many of us are in various stages of belief/disbelief regarding the Watchtower Society and their doctines. But, we would respect your right to believe what you choose to, and give you the best advise that we can. There are some men here that are/were elders and maybe they will have some advise for your situation.
Shameful that the elders took 'the man's' side those five years ago - and now they can't back down - but it is a patriarical organization - women are good for knocking on doors and selling/placing literature and being the good 'little woman' in more ways than one. Sorry, don't mean to offend you - but it is too true!

Rollercoaster,
What a mess! It's terrible your elders
and taking such a hard stand with you.
Your ex divorced you! What were his grounds for doing so?....Was HE disfellowshipped for not having JW
based 'grounds'? Would they accept a statement from your mother re the fact that his ex called looking for him and claimed they were to remarry? I mean, this sort of indicates something intimate, at least to me. Is your new man a JW? - if not, maybe that's partly why they are being so unyielding - but then again, maybe they are just rigidly following society policy.
I wish I had more to offer you - hopefully some of the ones who have had more "experience" with situations of this kind will have some appropriate advice to you.
One thing for sure, sounds like you are better off having that jerk out of your life!

Harrison has a new book: "An Accidential Autobiography" available in soft-cover $14. She describes it as
"An autobiography in which I am not the main characer." I'm enjoying it very much - I like her take on other people, and her own thoughts on her experiences and relationships. Waiting, she writes more about her mother and father - most insightful - sometimes sad - sometimes funny. She tells a little more about her JW childhood and her years at Bethel. She's 60+ - has had a wide panorama of life experiences which she relates with colorful insight. You can tell she has kept a life-long journal, and that this was a basis for putting down the words in this auto-bio.
