  We had a split household - I voted for
  Gore - larc for Bush. We are managing to live with each other just fine.

  Both of these candidates came from big bucks - you are right 7of9 - the press did seem to bring this up about Bush more often. Fact is, doesn't matter how rich they personally are - it's who can raise for most money for their
  campaign...that's what 'killed' McCain, whom I would have voted for. And, I'm highly interested in the "men behind the men" - spend a lot of time researching this area - much of what I've learned on both sides is truly
  scary.

  If I was going to pick on the Gore
  "mammograph" I'd have to pick on myself. Recently, larc had a thorough
  physical; and, for the life of me, I
  couldn't think of the word "prostate"
  .....all I could come up with was
  "ball bearings." Duh. And, I am usually pretty quick with words!
  Simon, CSPAN televised the British
  House of Commons last week. First time I had ever seen the proceedings. I was totally amazed - Blair and the Conservative Party leader were insulting each other left and right -
  Tony smiling the whole time. Wish we did that in the states. I loved it!

  OVB and larc, I cast my vote for male swimmers .... hmmm, for some reason they appeal to me more than the women. Even we 'mature women' have our fantasies.

  i've really enjoyed the conversations about music, poetry, movies, books and short storys.

  i thought it would be interesting to read about little known news from around the world, so i'll start with some from the tiny dot where i live on this ball of mud we call earth.. i just read in the paper this morning that the people of port clinton, ohio are celebrating new years by dropping a 500 pound fiberglass walleye fish into lake erie.

  we people here in ohio have a certain panache.. the tornado in xenia, ohio this summer missed my daughter's house by a block and a half.

  You are sooooo cute. In Ohio everyone south of Dayton are 'briars' - exception: Cincinnati where the population is half briar and half yankee. Only a few briars make it the 50 miles north to Dayton - when heading north on I-75 they see the sign saying
  "Dayton Left - so they turn around and go home to the hills.

  i have developed a deep love of celtic music.

  i listen to clannad, enya, loreena mckennitt, natalie mcmaster, and capercaillie.. i have also discovered 'celtic rock' when i went to the scottish festival in pleasanton ca last year.

  seven nations was playing modern rock music with fiddles and bagpipes.

  Very sorry to read of your physical and mental afflications - sending love and hugs to you - lots of them.

  I'm glad your children rallied around you when they realized you were not your usual self. Don't worry about them too much - they have to find their own way - and Jehovah loves us all - he is very forgiving...more than mere man can ever be. On days when the pain is great perhaps you could listen to some beautiful music - I once knew a women with your type of arthritis - and she said it "took the edge off the pain." It's certainly worth a try, right?

  He didn't really buy me a washing machine - insists I do it by hand,Ha.

  Don't feel too sorry for JAVA - He now has an intelligent, very pretty spouse who is also warm and gracious and even bakes terrific pies; and, to boot, she has no exJw hangups. How much better could it be for him - right JAVA?
