CAN A CHRISTIAN BELONG TO A NUDIST RESORT?
by minimus in.
the may 15, 1962 wt.
states:"therefore no dedicated christian minister can remain in good standing in the new world society of jehovah's witnesses and at the same time be a member of a nudist colony or frequent nudist camps" so if you had to make a choice, what would you do?.

Apostasy Unforgivable?
by professor indo witnesses teach that apostasy is an unforgivable sin?.
i was taught this by my parents.
but, i am wondering if this is a jw doctine.

I just read a book comparing Catholicism to Protestantism. Basically, the idea of Unforgivable Apostasy is a Protestant one. The Catholics believe that as long as you seek forgiveness at some point before you die, you're ok. There is no sin during a lifetime that can forever alienate you.

IS it just me or....?
by dustrabbit inis it just me or..... 1. do the vast majority of the "good" females in the jw publications look like they stepped out of the martha stewart-wannabe/betty crocker/beaver's mom mold?
and the bad "girls" look like some cheesy bad girl from a chessy 80s movie?.
2. did i see a lack of interracial couples/families in the jw pubs?

Wow - you're right! I've never seen interracial couples in the JW literature and I always used to laugh at how funny the "bad" girls looked. After all, if the bad girls were sharp dressers, we might want to be like them!
Many years ago I read a book about a woman who "escaped" from the Mormons. I was still a JW at the time and I remember being shocked at how my life seemed to be the same as hers.

oral sex
by lilpumpkin inwould someone who was a jw all his life (24 years) know he's not suppose to be giving/receiving oral sex?
is it possible he might not have heard about this rule?
does it not apply if the person is disfellowshipped?

What Are Your Beliefs?
by MoeJoJoJo ini am very curious in what everyone believes as far as religious beliefs.. since leaving the org, i feel i am still in a limbo state, i'm not quite sure of what i believe yet.
i believed a lie most of my life which i'm sure most of you can relate with, so its not so easy for me to jump right into something else.. i do feel there is a superior being who created us all.
i am still trying to sort things out.. so if you care to share, are you atheist, pagan, christian, etc.?

The BEST things about the USA
by OUTLAW inwe`ve seen some pretty mean usa bashing.so it`s time for a new thread about the good things in the usa..first off they got coors beer,a dam fine beer i must say.disineyland, what kid dosen`t want to go to disineyland?been there more than a few times and i intend to go again.tex-mex food,i`ll be dammed if i can get a decent enchilada this side of the border.the oregon coast with the giant red wood forest,a beautiful drive on a holiday.the humungas servings when you go to a usa restaraunt, especialy the steakhouse`s.so if you live in the usa,or go for a visit like i do,what are the things you enjoy in the usa?...outlaw edited by - outlaw on 2 july 2002 20:25:30.

What kind of dreams did you have as a JW?
by Preston ini've been doing some research on dream interpretation lately and as i would like to know if you ever had any strange or recurring dreams when you were a jw.
for instance, if you often had dreams of being chased by the police or some type of powerful entity, it could represent your struggle with the quthority that the organization often represented itself to be.
i think it's an interesting topic, just thought i'd see if you guys had anything to add.... .

You're right Preston...
Here's a link I found to common dream interpretations (especially about teeth falling out):
