  yes that delightful word, any story or a statement made without any proof that it is true.

  how many of us have actually have started these little rumors?

  I was the subject of almost all rumours in my congregation. Just a few are: I'm an alcoholic. I hate men, that's why I'm not married at 19. I'm strange and have a angry disposition.

  One time I told an elder he was misapplying a scripture that he was trying to counsel me with while on field service. His wife was sitting in the car and she told everyone about it. That's a rumour I was proud of (but, then again, it was true).

  My Therapist Must Think I'm Absolutely Nuts!

  every week i go in and tell my therapist these fantastic stories about the religion i was raised in!

  i think he believes me, but then when i think about it, it sounds too fantastic to be true.

  he must think i'm absolutely insane.

  I've noticed that, since I've been out and have tried to explain to people what my former religion was, the words sound insane as they're leaving my mouth. I can't believe I believed this! It is a cult.

  what tune would you really like to hear it play?.

  Mine just does the double-ring like a British telephone. I used to have a song on it, but when you're getting work calls all day it starts to wear real thin after awhile.

  i would like to ask a question.

  it is about "pessimism," verses "optimism.

  " which are you and if one is pessimistic, how do you help change that?

  I'm more optimistic. Today the manual transmission in my truck seized as I was barreling down the highway at 75MPH. I managed to get to the shoulder of the road and coast down an exit ramp. One tow truck ride later and I think to myself "whew - even my bad luck is good". Things can always be a lot worse.

  Fear of the New World

  i always had a fear as an active jw, that i would not like life in the new world that i would not like to be perfect.

  to never make a mistake, that would mean you would never get to kiss and make up.

  i would never get to watch a real football game, and porn would be completely out of the question.

  I wanted to live forever so bad...but I had this fear that the moment I had a bad thought I would be suddenly wiped off the map. It was kind of a 1984 society. The "Highlander" series seemed a more appealing option for living forever.

  celtic mark is often seen to be swimming out of his depth when it comes to the psychological makeup of women.

  frankly, they puzzle me, quite irksome creatures, endearing yes, but still ruddy irksome, flummox me a tad they do, so in sagitaurian putting your foot in it style, i am asking you for your advice.. when it comes to the ladies, what attitude is it specifically in a guy that you enjoy seeing displayed towards you?

  what actions on the guys behalf make you smile or laugh or shriek out in utter exasperation at our endeavours to win over your favour?

  Right on SYN! Don't be condescending to her. Whenever I show up at a remote site, the process engineers don't quite know what to think of me and sometimes I get some attitude or talked down to. I hate that.

  in the magazine the government that will bring paradise that the jw ladies left me last saturday, on page 18 at the bottom of the page there is a picture representing the men and women jehovah has gathered since the time of jesus who would reign in heaven with him.... cough.... in the middle of the line of faces, there is, of course, charles t. russell, coming forward, there is -- gulp -- rutherford, then knorr... is the last one, the one at the front of the line supposed to be fred franz ?.

  and who is the one behind russell ?.

  funny how the ladies are all in the background, kind of hidden by the males...
