I loved 12 Monkeys! It's one of my favorite movies along with the Matrix, etc. I like films that mess with your entire preception.

Tacoma Ass--embly
by Cappuccino OC inmy dear aunty, just told me that this last weekend they where admonished not listen to the "secular" news.
they gave the example that during sept 11 all the tv stations had erroneous information.
that the real truth about sept 11 & hope came out a couple months later with their "awake" magazine.

by BluesBrother in.
bbc central news have reported that james barrat , an elder in rugby congregation has received a two year sentence for abusing two teenage boys over a ten year period.. the abuse took place at bible studies .. the judge called him an "arch hypocrite".
the police said he is "extremely dangerous" and one of the victims , now in early 20's,gave an interview and said "do not bother with the elders, go straight to the police

Yes he certainly did. I got the Chicken Pox at the age of 22 when I was a JW in Rugby and everyone insisted - I was not to go to the hospital - James Barratt could cure me with a little white pill under my tongue. Needless to say Chicken Pox as an adult is quite serious and I suffered for a month with high fevers, etc. In my delerium I decided that I could cure it by getting drunk and watching horse racing on tv. Needless to say he had a thriving practice.

What do you like to watch?
by SpiceItUp inok...not that there is anything wrong with serious threads (i for one enjoy them) but i was looking through the ones today and decided i needed a bit of fluff in my day (been way too serious lately).
so my question is..even though its rerun season...what tv shows do you like to watch?.
myself - i was an avid "x-files" fan but alas they have ended the series .

I like that new Law & Order show - "Crime & Punishment". Sometimes Sunday night is the only time I ever have time to sit and watch TV all week. I also watch "State V" on Wednesday nights if I'm home.

DEAR WTS, I love your new director.......
by deddaisy inanother example of gross hypocrisy - do they honestly think that these type of things will never be discovered?
unbelievable.
i suppose their excuse is that the shares were donated as gifts and through wills etc, yet surely they should not accept them if they are not appropriate to the teachings of the organisation.

This whole issue really disgusts me. We lived on mac & cheese for a year as a kid when my father got fired for refusing to do military work (he's a machinist). He thought Jehovah would bless him for standing firm but, while we were suffering, the Watchtower had its hands in the military pie.

Suggestion: Female PR person for Silentlambs?
by Pathofthorns inafter watching the follow-up discussion program to panorama ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/cta/progs/02/forum/panorama/jehovah15jul.ram) i couldn't help but wonder if it would not be in the interests of silentlambs to have a 'pr' spokesperson in addition to bill bowen.
this suggestion is not meant to detract from the courageous efforts of bill bowen which have been impressive, but it might be good to detract focus off of the religious status of bill bowen (ie.
whether he is an "active witness" or not).. the question was asked to bill bowen during the follow-up program at approximately 7.5 minutes into the program whether bill was an "active" witness.

TO THE CLOWNS-TED JARACZ & CO
by Scourge inwell brother ted jaracz.
i have never seen such fumbling from so called 'mouthpieces' of god, and so public too.. and our presiding overseer from scotland didn't do too well either did he?
although he had probably been warned not to get involved before the panorama team got there.

Wow! Welcome - what a great first post! I thought of the same thing when Ted J. was ambushed coming off the stage - if he truly has God's Holy Spirit he's going to say something brilliant. After all, we're taught in the organization that the governing body are "mini gods". However, his words were just more dancing around the issue.
