Actually they were arguing over "whether God has defined Good"....JH is an atheist and Friend obviously a believer, so theres a mix right there.

Friends wandered off i feel...Last time i checked he was debating with this guy called JH over at H20...neither one wanted to back down, they are 2 peas in a pod...they'd be best of friends if they weren't on opposing sides.Both get off on legalistic debate.Both seem to be fighting for their faith, and wont give an inch.

1975 recording "Stay Alive 'til '75"
by Pathofthorns inthis real audio recording of a district overseer in 1968 is one of the most disturbing things i came accross in my surfing.
it perfectly demonstrates the misleading nature of the "we never said 1975" statement.
while perhaps technically true, see if this talk doesn't make any loyal jw rethink what was really said about 1975.. download real audio if you don't already have it to listen to this talk.

Myself, i'm just not sure about the bible anymore...I've just started reading too much stuff thats critical of it.I dont about Christian ethics or just looking to the bible as a sole source of guidance in life.I dont how i started taking JW's seriously, dont know how that happened...i always hated church, read the bible a little and believed in god more or less, but hate church.I wouldn't have lasted very long if ever became baptised Dub...I like thinking for myself, i like challenging ideas and for me to just hold the bible up as the ultimate source of truth just goes against that idea.SO....i'm not Christian, i cant give mayself a label.I dont know if God is real or just a little voice inside me head.I dont know Jesus was really the son of God or just an archetypal image of the self (your've read a little Jung i think?, in that case probably understand that load of BS)....you know, just A reflection of an inner ideal thats comes up in all forms in all societies with Buddha and Mohammad etc.The bible as the inspired word of God, i dont know either.All i know is that Jesus was a radical, a thinker himself, a revolutionary maybe, he said some wise stuff that i really like.....but other than that, the bible, especially the OT is just off the show, useless to me.....i mean, who cares who begat who and whether you should eat milk with pork or whatever.Who cares about where you go when you die and who gets resurrected when and at what time....and all those horned wilded beasts and stuff, and whos who....and the king of the North, who gives a flip.Wisdom is where its at and you can forget the rest as far as i'm concerned.I've been on too much of an atheist trip lately....its no good for me health, again , who cares whether you can prove God exists or why he allows the suffering in the world....and wether evolution really happened, it just doesn't matter.????...I believe in a personnal God, thats inside me.....dont understand what it is, or if it has any basis in reality, i just dont care...i'm burnt out trying to prove stuff to myself.My ethics are at odds with Christian ethics at times.You know, i have no problem with Sex before marriage and Homosexuality doesn't really get me outraged and stuff...and i hate church period, so i dont know why i bother with all this religious stuff.I just have too many doubts now.....I was never into that Armageddon stuff the WT put out either, condemning everyone...i just took it for granted that God would be fair and give everyone more than a fair go, of which Hellfire and brimstone just dont add up to.Ride a dirt bike....thats about it, Yep?

by Zep injesus taught that the romans should be loved and not hated.therefore some of his zealot mates decided to get rid of him.some of thezealots were rounded up and condemned to death by crucifixion, some guys high contrived for jesus to be exchanged for barabbas.they gave pilate evidence that jc was part of the zealot movement and was a would be king.jesus was on the cross he was offered poison to drink to end it all, but refuses.by 3pm the pain is unbearable and he takes the wine laced with poison and looses consciousness...but he aint dead.john says that blood came from a wound in his side:clue: a dead body dont bleed.the jews tell pilate that its contrary to law to have the bodies hung out overnight.so pilate agrees to change the excution to being buried alive.all 3 guys are put into a cave.it was thought that jesus was dead, but the others were alive and to prevent their escape their legs are broken (?
).but jesus mates realise he aint dead and they put 100 pounds of myrrh and aloes in his grave clothes...to expell the poison from his body.one of the zealots sitting in the cave with him, pours the juice into his mouth...he recovers.. mary magdalene comes to the cave ans sees that the men had managed to roll back the big rock blocking the cave a little.mary goes and gets help, and jesus later apears before some of his supporters then goes into a monastic life but still guides the others at times.. so......angela lansberry, eat your heart out!

Are JW's really seperate from the world?
by Andyman ini have done alot of posting on different boards since i started on the internet.
i have found that jw's are really not as "seperate" from the world as they claim to be.. as a jw i was told we had to be "seperate" from the world.
you know, get drunk, use drugs, abuse our families, cheat on taxes, lie, be greedy, etc.. but from what i have seen in my old congregtion, and the stories i have read here and on other boards, this statement isn't really true.

Thats they the image put over in yer Magazines.Its just bollocks though, people are people.I've met a few dubs that are as worldy as they come, drugs, sex...etc.A Double life, i think its called eh!

Are you aware of barabra's stuff Seven?.She's Australian, i didn't think she was that well know outside OZ.
The book i'm reading is actually putting both sides of the story, sort of?.....its theory really, i wouldn't jump to believe it, its just a theory.She reckons that Christianity sprung out of the Qumram sect or Essenses...of which used the used the Pesher techinque a lot, and who thought the OT was full of hidden messages meant for them specifically.
Radio Carbon dating is inconculsive, it could fall anywhere between 75 AD and 175bc......She makes a fair argument, but i dont buy it, its just interesting THEORY!handwriting tests put them mostly in the 1st and 2nd centuries B.C.
Hmmmm, she says thats wrong...it more the 1st century AD
