Oubliette - Yeah, when she said that I just wanted to scream, "Do you not see how that is fucking crazy?!!"
How will she and every other overzealous J-dub react to these articles?
"Oh, what's this? More bullshit?"

It's such a core doctrine though, it's difficult to see the reward for the risk of shaking the faith of the older JW's who have had 1914 and 607 carved into their minds for so long. Then again, my mother in law once told me (verbatim):
"If the Organization one day told us not to wear the color blue anymore, we just wouldn't wear it anymore. We wouldn't ask why or question, because when the Organization speaks, it's Jehovah speaking to us."
God I wish I was making that up. We'll see where the insanity takes them. Perhaps they'll just lose the 607 and keep 1914 as a somewhat ambiguous date when Jesus invisibly came to power, sort of like:
"....Because why again? What led us to that conclusion?"
"....Uh.....Um........(shit)......Look out! Armageddon's right behind you!"

The passing of time should not cause us to lose hope that
Kingdom blessings will be realized. There are solid reasons
to keep our Scriptural expectations alive. These articles
show how this can be done.
Basically a recap of 607 and 1914 being correct and endless assurances of, "Yes, it is undeniable that the end of this system is close, right over that next hill.......oh wait no, we meant THAT hill......no, no, THAT hill." Oh, and also some nice discouragement of higher education, impatience, questioning, discontentment, and a loss of urgency in these "last days." You know, all the classics.
They're worth a read if you kinda need a drink right now, but want a reason to REALLY need a drink RIGHT NOW.
so, the latest "kids" kingdom melody video is out.. here are some screenshots:.
.
yep, that's right, they showed a kid with a teddy bear getting baptized.. here's the video in full for documentation, if you can stomach it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ellrtyj_maq.
Disgusting.
They don't know themselves at that age, they certainly don't know what they are committing to, giving up, nor the consequences should they change their mind, and the Borg doesn't give a damn as long as They get to add one more number to Their end of year tally.
Again, DISGUSTING.
i've noted active, devoted jw's state the above.. and, it's not a problem for me to remain trusting of god, i just don't trust religions or men.. recently, a member of this forum stated that he remains an active jw, in the family of god's people, wanting to encourage and do good - whilst recognising that the pastoral leaders (the gb) have shipwrecked the faith of many, being unsound scripturally etc, etc.. stop and think about this - the bible says to not follow after those who lie and hurt the faith of "little ones".. the pharisees were accused of traversing over lands and expending much energy to make a single convert - only for that convert to end up worse of than he started off with.. it's one thing to not believe this is the 'truth' and feeling the awful pressure of managing ones life, trying not to lose ones family.. it's quite another thing to declare oneself to be a christian believer of god's jw household, and somehow believe the god of love would use corrupt liars to parade as jesus' brothers in the urgency of last days.
really?
and, to then visibly promote faith in corrupt men, and try to bring converts into a place where the rulership is wrong.. some of us are dying from hurt here.......give me a break..
Are you people seriously trying to defend the doctrine while denouncing the leadership that created that doctrine?
allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).
In my experience, this site does welcome both views.
One of those views just happens to be batshit insane, and those who can see that are always here to helpfully point it out.
Good day.
all that i can say is....what a shame!
key quote:.
many believe that life came about by evolution.... ummmm, no...that's abiogenesis, not evolution.
no evolutionist says that "life came about by evolution.
The worst part is that JW's who read this will be reinforcing their denial of a key and beautiful theory of the world around us. They won't be able to experience the joy and wonder of discovering the amazing truth about evolution. It answers questions you never knew you had and makes you ask questions that lead into more amazing insights about abiogenesis, geology, paleontology, archaeology, astrobiology, cosmology......such a waste. To the poor witness that tries to push this on an unsuspecting householder:

Christ. It hurts me. Their ignorance physically hurts me.
IT'S ABIOGENESIS MOTHER$%&#@#S!
I apologize, had to get that out.
