One Italian elder from the old country used to always drink wine before the meetings. Sometimes more than others. Elders decided to address it and he blamed it on being Italian. Lol

Unstable people might tend to like the Witnesses until they realize all the rules they must follow which is literally impossible.

Pioneers, Elder's Wives most self righteous. Etc.
by Overrated inas a jw did you have a pioneer sister/elder's wife who was the biggest busybody, self righteous, arrogant pus in the circuit?
who would look down on others and treat people like crap.. without giving to much away, i experienced one that knew everyone in circuit.
and if she or her husband saw or heard something they didn't like it was " you know what the bible says" regardless if it was in there or not.

Some elders wives kept a pretty low profile. I do think they had a huge influence on their husbands. Always good to get in with the wife lol.

The Watchtower stole our time. EVERYTHING you did revolved what they wanted you to do. You want to buy a new car or house, do you really need that?? Vacation—how can you think of doing that when your field service hours are so low? Speaking of that, you want to be a MS or elder, you have to raise your averages! You want to sleep in on Saturday morning? What?? You need to be exemplary and set the example and knock on those doors even though you know no one is home...we can go on and on, can’t we??

Do exJws Easily Accept What They Are Told?
by minimus inwe were told that we needed to accept whatever we were directed to by the governing body and elders.
eventually we rebelled and left the organization.
do you think former jehovah’s witnesses seem to question authority more than others?

It’s true we were cockily led to believe we had all the answers. We didn’t have to graduate from a university because we were so above all of that. Then it dawned on us, we know nothing.

I agree. I tend to question something as opposed to just accept something because everyone else is saying this is what is correct.
