Remembering Rutherford
by Sea Breeze inhe seems to me to be the angriest and most ill-tempered of all the wt presidents, especially after his stint in prison and failed prophecies.. “regarding his misguided statements as to what we could expect in 1925, he [rutherford] once confessed to us at bethel, “i made an ass of myself.”” watchtower 1984 oct 1 p.24.
rutherford died at beth sarim on january 8, 1942, at the age of 72.
[220] cause of death was...carcinoma of the rectum..."[21] .

Many religious leaders actually begin thinking that God speaks through them. With that mentality they can do no wrong in their minds and in the minds of the believers.

It’s interesting that as a JW it’s very easy to believe something even if it makes no sense. As we all know, Witnesses will twist and ignore anything that suits their fancy. That’s why it’s very difficult to actually reason with a JW because they have been taught to justify anything that is considered negative about them. They live in an alternate universe.

It’s in the Bible so it’s scriptural. If we say something that we teach as truth that turns out to be wrong it’s ok because as long as we believed it to be true, we’ll that’s all that matters. So when we read from the scriptures, prophecies, you should accept what we say simply because at the time, we believe it’s true. BY THE WAY IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE OUR PROPHECY INTERPRETATION EVEN IF WE ARE WRONG, you will be disfellowshipped for APOSTASY.

Dis, I read your detailed long and interesting post. But really what’s the point? Rutherford didn’t appear to be drunk when he wrote his books? So what. He believed his own nonsense? He was sincere? The Watchtower has disavowed everything he has said. Rutherford had an ax to grind with everything and everyone. He instituted the thought that the demons control governments and we have to worry about the demons and be paranoid that we don’t get them going. The man had issues and he used scare tactics and he bullied. Not a good guy. I can totally understand why the Russelites wanted nothing to do with him. He was an egomaniac.

This chain has an excellent reputation for customer service and are usually picky on who they hire. They are a conservative looking group, no tats or crazy dress . I think this girl will either learn very quickly or just leave.

I just talked to the manager and he was very apologetic and said they take pride in the training they give their employees and apologized profusely. I told him I have never called to make a complaint but that I thought the management should know. They also told him I did not wish to have anything happen to her regarding her job but she just needs to learn better customer service. He knew who the person was based on my description and said she will be talked to so that doesn’t happen to any other customer.
