  The complete zombie state I would sink into - it was like my brain was suffocating! Eventually I began having actual physical reactions to going to the KH.

  I also resented the fact that we had to dedicate two evenings and the entire weekend to this nonsense. Even AA doesn't require that many meetings! And they have the courtesy to keep it short!

  My feeling was that if we were going to meet three times a week, it should be for fifteen minutes followed by a hoe-down. And only once a week should be mandatory!

  I couldn't do theater because I was trying to be good and schedule my hobby around my religious schedule. Putting spiritual things first! HA!

  i was spoofed this week by a 13-year-old girl.

  she approached me through yahoo and led me to believe that i had finally made contact with one of my family.

  I agree, this was probably not a thirteen year old girl. The guy just got annoyed that you saw through the deception and immediately put on another mask, one that you would be unlikely to prosecute or pursue. A defense mask of complete irresponsibility.

  Only the truly evil DEMAND forgiveness, and that's so they can control you by keeping talking to you.

  my very jw mother went to my daughter's wedding in a mainstream church this summer.

  this is the first time i ever remember her going into a church.

  she refused to attend my wedding in a methodist church and also my brother's in a mainstream church.

  I think its merely evidence of the weakening grip on the minds of its followers that the cult has.

  People are starting to think for themselves, gradually, small things, church things and rated r movies, but finally they are waking up to all that they've missed while waiting for the world to explode.

  with the "cloning" that scientists have done (most notibly, with dolly the sheep), do you think it's feasible that they could in fact, make a dinasaur from dna?.

  i'm leaving this up for interpretation.. this verse is speaking of the coming anti-christ and it gives a bit of some detail about his background....note it states that he will have no desire for women.. so what does that make the anti-christ be???.

  Which means I can't look at him, and when I sit on my throne in the temple of God, I will be overthrown by someone showing me a picture of Pete in either his Sportsnight incarnation, or the actual appearance of Mr. Krause in "Six Feet Under" regalia.

  Would Ray Franz be the President of the Watchtower if........

  if the governing body arrangement had never been implemented could ray franz have become the president of the watchtower after his uncle or henschel died?.

  i believe in coc ray franz said that if knorr had been president the events of 1980 would probably not have turned out as they did.

  so do you think it is possible that by now ray franz would have been the president of the watchtower if the gb arrangement had not taken place?.

  Maybe the WT would have softened if Ray Franz would have made it.

  But he just didn't have the political savvy to get the power he needed to make those changes. And if he'd had the political savvy, he wouldn't have been the kind guy that would make those changes.

  Ergo, a paradox! Therefore, the org is doomed and will never reform. It will be completely destroyed before it lets up a single straw of the burdens it puts on its hapless dubs. It can't!

  The only unanswered question, therefore, is the mechanics of its destruction. It can't sustain itself in this age of increased information access, and it can't turn back, and it can't change...

  Therefore, all it will take is one loony with a truck of fertilizer... one plane crash... one restructuring of religious taxation in America... one world government with the need for quick cash and the power to seize the property of a small, useless religion (hint hint hint, you government spies!)... and the whole thing will break apart.

  But bluntly, for his sake, and for mine, I'm glad we've outgrown the mystical land of dubdom!

  considering the majority, if not all of rutherford's teachings are all but dead, the only two i can think of that are still strongly supported are........... 1) heavens doors closed in 1935 (which is probaly on it's way out the door as well).

  2) changing the name from international bible students to jehovah's witnesses.. so to completely eliminate rutherford what would the jehovah's witnesses change their name to next ?????????.

  the book says that when we come to understand what the abomination that causes desolation is to flee to the mountains.

  After Rome destroyed Jerusalem -

  Follow me closely here...

  A bunch of Jewish expatriates got together and decided to create a more portable version of their dead religion. Against the wishes, probably, of what remained of the religious leadership, they incorporated the charismatic figure of Jesus into a new version of Judaism, made to be acceptable to the Greek and Roman world.

  Over time, aspects of the ancient babylonian solar cults crept into the religion. Ie. Jesus' virgin birth, the trinity, the myth of the resurrection.

  After the fact they added the idea that Jesus warned his followers about the coming annihilation of the Jewish system. They made it up!

  When the forgers of the book of daniel wrote the comment about the digusting thing, they were talking about current events - the Greek defilement of the temple by imposing an altar of Zeus and sacrificing pigs.

  So the cultmakers of the 1st century were commissioned to create a prophetic statement about the destruction of Jerusalem. They did it here.

  IT's all nonsense and has nothing to do with your life. Unless you want to worship some kind of aspect of the masonic / Babylonian / Egyptian Religious Continuum!!!
