Fitting In

did anyone else have a hard time fitting in with non-witnesses when you left the witnesses?

i never had a hard time fitting in with witnesses since i grew up as one, i was always popular in witness circles and could usually strike up an easy conversation with someone as long as i knew they were a witness.

but i just can't find any common points of interest with anyone anymore since i've been disfellowshipped twice and then finally faded away a year and a half ago.

There aren't that many people that I'd actually want to die for what they've done to me. I mean, I'd like revenge, sure, but I don't know if what they did deserves death.

I need some people to see me succeed. A dead enemy can't gnash his teeth at your success.

The absurdity of petitionary prayer

let us illustrate the lunacy of the situation.

you have, in your possession, a serum that will either cure the child or at least lessen his pain.

If you want to pray for a perfect world, go ahead...

All i'm saying is, God will guide you. If the world leaders REALLY wanted to end child starvation, and prayed sincerely for a way to make it happen, I bet it would. But they won't, because they don't really care. And God won't just DO it because how would we ever know that we need him? [in fact, maybe God DOES solve lots of problems without letting you know about it - and how can you prove that He doesn't?]

Either admit you need God to help you solve your problems - by praying for help to do so, or just admit that the real issue is whether or not you WANT God to help.

had a discussion with my mom the other day and she asked "how can you be so sure they are wrong ?".

i picked two topics that i had not talked to her about ( already said the pedophile, un, generation stuff.).

Three things:

1.) the date of 607 BCE for the destruction of Jerusalem is not supported by anything, in the bible or in secular chronology. Which means that Daniel's prophecy of 2520 days (even if applicable) shouldn't be started in 607. Which means 1914 is a nonsense date, a coincidence of "event" (WW1) and hit or miss prediction. which means Christ did not return, invisibly or otherwise. Which means he did not inspect the christian churches. Which means he did not appoint a faithful and discreet slave. Draw the rest of the conclusions yourself, but think about Matthew 24:14 especially - if these are not the last days, then...

2.) The tyrannical way in which they try to intimidate me into doing what they want. I refuse to do anything out of fear. Christ and the Bride invite, saying "Come!" not "I'll kill you if you don't." Also, the incredible amount of conformity, superstition, and bullying.

3.) The "evidence" they present for these being the last days, earthquakes, wars, famines, etc. are, if you read the WHOLE chapter carefully, actually things that Jesus was saying WOULDN'T be the sign of his presence. We are not to get frightened or excited by those things, and if anyone tries to say "Christ is here or there" we are not to listen to them. Because the presence of Christ is as a lightning flash - sudden, complete, earthwide, total, visible, heavenly AND earthly all at once. So the WT full of shit.

And finally, what do I need an organization for? All they do is try to cut my hair and get me to shave and not ride a motorcycle...

At least when flaccid. when erect, the average is closer. White men tend to "grow" more, black men "show" more.

i went to the 3rd church that i've ever stepped foot into after leaving the borg 3 years ago.

so, as i'm standing there (in the front row, i might add) for the musical worship portion of the service.. i felt like a big idiot.
